I like Vivian Girls' newest song. They've handled their "15 minutes of fame" better than all of the aforementioned hype bands and actually try and change up their narrow sonic palette. And they're still playing tiny shows and seem like down to earth people. Even if they apparently hate all electronic music.

I triedddd to like Grizzly Bear. I kept telling myself "not everything needs to rock all the time," but their stuff just bores the tits off me. Like Sigur Ros, I need to be in a really specific mood to listen to them.

I'm not going to bother listening to that Wavves demo, even though I like him. Dude's already released two full-length albums in like 6 months. Last time I got into a band and they released 500 albums in the same year, I quickly lost interest and haven't heard any of the last 4 releases (Jesu). Of course, that doesn't explain why I still listen to Charalambides, but you know, it's not like I seek out every release anymore...

The only Grizzly Bear record I like is Yellow House. The new one is shit I cannot stand and the first one was just ''meh''. Yellow House however reminds me of the beach boys making a record in the middle of the woods during fall/winter inside a small cabin.

So if you don't like The Beach Boys, the woods, the fall, the winter, or any combination of the previous, you may not like Yellow House.

well you should, since it sounds nothing since the first two albums. Well okay it has that lo-fi sound but it sounds almost Animal Collective-ish. Plus it's just a demo for fuck sake, it's not like the album is out tomorrow.

I never liked the Pixies or Flaming Lips. I did like Pavement for a while though. I think Malkmus had a real talent for writing catchy tunes at a time when probably only J Mascis, Teenage Fanclub and Evan Dando were able to do the same. I lost interest in them after Crooked Rain, although that probably has more to do with me simply getting into other things than anything specifically to do with Pavement.

Radiohead are fine, I liked 'em in high school, but I burnt out on them really quick. Don't understand how people can be so nuts about them. And In Rainbows BLEW.

I like Pavement. I don't listen to them all the time. Once or twice a year I'll have the Pavement phase, go through all the albums, enjoy it for a week or so, and then go back to whatever else. They're fun and hit that enjoyable spot, which is all I want sometimes.

The Pixies I used to love, but after working at a store where everyone else also loved them and played them 24/7, they got really over-played for me. I can only stand Bossa Nova now because no one else likes it.
