It was a classic. Both teams really going for it. Liverpool were 4-1 up at one point but MC clawed back 2 goals making the final few minutes frantic as fuck.

It's all about the Pope's visit here today. Why am I mentioning it on this thread? It's pretty obvious:

El Pupi Zanetti
El Pipi Romagnoli
El Pipa Higuaín
El Papu Gómez
and now, el Papa Francisco

Argentines and their goddamn nicknames, man...

EDIT — wait, sorry, I just got it. Lost some of my Spanish language mojo there...

Alright, as you all know Alexis is now a Manchester United cat. Will he thrive there and join the club's historic list of "7"s? Or will Joe the Mou give him some completely warped task and ruin the part-ay? I'd like to read your opinions, since I'm possibly not to be trusted on this particular matter...

It's impossible to say just because Jose's so hard to read now. Who knows if any of those iconic #7s would really thrive under Jose at the moment? Alexis is the kind of player who should thrive anywhere he goes but it sometimes feels like the only MU player who's really done that since Jose's arrival is Phil Jones, which says it all really.

I've just watched the last minutes of Rennes-PSG.
Neymar's attitude towards his oponents...
What a piece of shit that brat is...
Some day, someone's gonna hack him down and it will take time for me to show sympathy.

(I'd even wish Pepe stays fit for the world cup for a Portugal-Brasil meeting)

Neymar's a disgrace. He somehow managed to control his temper when he was in Barca, but then he finally showed his character, when PSG owners promished him he'd be the star of the team.

demonrail666 01.31.2018 03:51 AM

Neymar has no class. The handshake thing about sums him up. One of the many downsides of Messi and Ronaldo eventually retiring is it'll probably make him top dog not just at PSG but overall. Lets just hope someone with the skill but also some humility can emerge before then. I'm looking at you, Kevin De Bruyne.

you're right.

however, I might sense that Kylian Mbappe might be even bigger star when he gains experience and injuries will avoid him. that guy has tremendous skill, from what I'd seen him play.

demonrail666 01.31.2018 09:25 AM

Yeah, although I've barely seen Mbappe play so it's all just hearsay for me at the moment. I know he's meant to be great though.

I wonder if the media might try and manufacture a good guy v bad guy rivalry between Neymar (obviously the baddie) and someone else, the way they did with Messi and Ronaldo.

Spurs v Liverpool last night was the perfect example of how two teams playing badly can create a great spectacle of a match.

I disagree, I thought Liverpool defended excellently, their weakness was in midfield thanks to the mighty Moussa Dembele swatting them aside like flies. Spurs were poor in the first half but picked it up in the second. It was a wonderful game to watch, I actually went out to the pub especially to watch it live which i dont normally do, and whilst they both played badly at points (Spurs throughout the first half across the pitch, Liverpools defending falling to bits at the end) it was a fair result where both teams were equally inconsistent.

demonrail666 02.08.2018 04:26 AM

Fair enough. I listened on 5Live so my eyes were provided by Robbie Savage's mouth.
