8/10. Classy movie.

Also, I went to the cinema today and watched :

8/10. I saw it in 3D, it was impressive at moments and entertaining. Also, some action scenes were pretty mindblowing. Too bad the story was too much of a cliché and very predictable... Oh, and not enough badassery for a James Cameron movie...

It was a bit unsettling at times. Glasgow sure looks like a bleak shithole.
A good film with a solid performance by Kate Dickie.

Derek 12.19.2009 08:12 AM

Glasgow isn't too much of a bleak shithole! (I should know, I sort of live there).

Red Road looks pretty damned good.

7/10. It's far from being one of my favorite movies from the Coen brothers but it's still a good movie. The end is fucking terrific !

7/10. I was a bit disappointed, considering this won the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1989. Anyway, the actors were good, especially James Spader.

I just saw The Green Mile last night for the first time.

What a great flick !

I felt just like the big black dude toward the end when he said he was ready to go, that he was tired.

Humanity is very disappointing.

No.

For me:

In three parts...
Scorsese's short: 9/10
Copolla's short: 1/10
Allen's short: 6/10

Blood Simple is by far my favorite Coen Brothers film, with Man Who Wasn't There being a close 2nd.

Sex Lies and Video Tapes is awesome, though the movie Speaking Parts (which S, L, and VT quite clearly ripped off) is leagues better.

10/10. I tend to watch this at least once a year. It's just perfect. Anyone wanting to see how they can make a film with almost no budget should watch Duel.

Really really good film. I still want a film made that just outlines his discography in detail as well.

'Bunny & The Bull'

I really liked it. Reminded me of the films of Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Delicatessen, The City of Lost Children, Amelie), crossed with The Mighty Boosh (obviously, given that Paul King wrote & directed it), Withnail & I and Le Cirque Invisible. Plus the music is by the Ralfe Band and "Alone Again Or" by Love closes the film.

also saw http://www.eddieizzardbelieve.com/

'Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story' (a documentary about the comedian Eddie Izzard). I liked this one too. It was more interesting than I expected it to be.

thanks for the 'Bunny & The Bull' reminder, gonna get that now.

(mighty boosh is one of my favorite shows of all time)

Derek 12.20.2009 11:08 AM

I've never enjoyed The Mighty Boosh myself.

demonrail666 12.20.2009 11:12 AM

I'm the same. I've watched the Mighty Boosh and thought bits of it were funny but not enough for me to make a point of watching it when I see that it's on.
