The Cure, Johnny Cash, The Clash, The Smiths/Morrissey, Feist, Broken Social Scene, Cat Power..... all pretty shitty........

Deathklok and any other ironic metal bullshit is worthy of a kick in the balls........

Crime and Dissonance compilation was curate by Alan Bishop of Sun City Girls

"She" being Avril.

Just found out Nick Cave may actually agree with you.

A few years ago, apparently, he won some MOJO bullshit award. They asked him if he wanted anyone in particular to give him the award at the ceremony. He said Avril, and showered praise on her. They said she wasn't MOJO enough, so someone else gave it. I forget who.

Bunny Munroe's fascination with her "pussy" in Cave's second novel led me to believe he didn't much respect her, but I guess the truth is he likes her music a lot.

- early 80's hardcore punk > '77 punk
- bands i can't stand: Pearl Jam, RHCP, Oasis, Dream Theater, Muse
- In Rainbows is not boring, it's a wonderful album
- Lady Gaga used to be dope (Born This Way sucks tho)
- EarlWolf pisses on a few tracks from WTT

Genteel Death 10.18.2011 04:10 PM

This Heat are a way more interesting a band than The Fall. The Fall have many shit songs on any of their albums, but seem to survive this myth of being the coolest out of a few Mark E Smith's rants, not any tangible musical worth. Rants which are funny, sometimes, but often tedious drunk drivel.

Glice 10.18.2011 04:33 PM

People who think they like the Fall don't. I am the only person alive who truly understands their genius.

Plus This Heat are CRAP and Herr Death smells of BOTH BUMS AND WEE.

I like The Fall. That's why I'm right and you'e wrong.

Genteel Death 10.18.2011 04:47 PM

No, wait, this is all about Fall fanboys being better than anything because you don't really get them. Better than SY fanboys. Yawn.

Glice 10.18.2011 04:52 PM

You don't really get either fanboys though. You're always going on about how fanboys were better in their earlier period, when a true fanboyfanboy knows they were better in the middle period, before the tiaras came in.

And I'm sober. SOBER, damn you!

Genteel Death 10.18.2011 04:53 PM

Fall fans are narrow-minded. Another unpopular music opinion that I feel like throwing your way. They won't go any further than comedy or listening to classical music and hating guitars. Like it's a real deal to do that.

That's not true. Show me an example of that. Fanboy.

Pet Shop Boys are awesome.
R.E.M. have 1 good song, nothing more.
Dirty Work and Undercover are the best Rolling Stones records.

jon boy 08.01.2012 11:10 PM

guided by voices are terrible.

Pookie 08.02.2012 12:41 AM

Melvins are just a shit heavy metal band.

Pookie 08.02.2012 12:42 AM

Boris are just a shit heavy metal band.

I've sold the 3 Boris records I had over a year ago. A few good songs but mostly an overrated band.

Genteel Death 08.02.2012 05:48 AM

Not really an unpopular opinion because I doubt many care about this. After reading some of Keiji Haino's lyrics translated into English I felt happy that I don't understand Japanese. They really are nowhere near as good as the music.

Dude McDude 08.02.2012 07:59 AM

I think the white stripes are bland

Dude McDude 08.02.2012 08:05 AM

Living color is my favorite black metal band

Dude McDude 08.02.2012 08:07 AM

Chris Barnes is a pussy

I never liked ''Sweet Jane'' by The Velvet Underground. It's got a great intro but the song and lyrics irritate me. I'm not much of a fan of ''Rock & Roll'' either. The vocals are grating and the lyrics silly.

The classic Kiss lineup (Gene, Paul, Peter, & Ace) is one of the greatest hard/glam rock acts to ever do it.

If you like the New York Dolls or The Dictators, but can't stand Kiss' first album (or ALIVE!) I can't help but assume that you're just being pretentious

If you deleted The Dictators mention you'd be completely right.

Not sure if I follow you.
I've always thought the Dictators and Kiss were extremely similar, with the Dictators just appealing to a more eccentric audience.

Rob Instigator 03.31.2014 08:13 AM

Kiss got blowjobs off stage
the dictators did it onstage
other than that,
same band
