That's true, she can be audibly heard on subbacultcha.
It's worth noting that song, if I remember correctly, is the first the Pixies ever wrote together. |
"Subbaculta" is so hot.
|
I should add that production values aside, there isnt a Pixies album I dnt love. They were one of those bands that I was obsessed with during very formative years, so I still love all those records hard.

Not that I care really, just correcting you ;) And I'm surprised, sarramkrop actually LIKING something? |
i have it also.
It's the regular Surfer Rosa Cd over here in LA FRANCE (Come on Pilgrim is not actually mentioned at all) |
[quote=Derek]I have it... and I'm not in England... I think you mean UNITED KINGDOM...
Not that I care really, just correcting you ;) And I'm surprised, sarramkrop actually LIKING something?[/quot Fairly common for a while until vinyl started making a comeback. Then when they went to re-issuing Come On and Surfer on LP, I think they stopped compiling the EP and LP on CD. |
I have the import. I dnt like it compiled. I prefer them as seperate entities.
|
gotta go with Surfer Rosa.
that changed some shit. |
You know what I hate? People liking shit just because it changed some shit. What about how you actually LIKE it. I don't care if it's the goddamned white album of the motherfucking universe. What do your ears think of it?
Sorry, I'm in a mood. |
Way to go gmku, you cunting beast. It's the guy/girl's first post and you bark at them like a rabid animal.
Although you did apologize afterward. :) |
SUBBACULTCHA owns

sure it did "change stuff," but dude, SURFER ROSA is the shiz!! I mean, it makes me get all crazy and primal. It is to me, the sort of record that parents dont want their kids to hear. |

Fuck, yah. If he or she is man enough, he or she will be back. If not, then fuck em, they wouldn't measure up here anyway. |

I know. I just take issue with people claiming that as the sole reason for liking something. |
Gmku, you redeemed yourself!
I totally agree with that. And it goes back to the Hendrix thread as well... sorry, here I go, opening up a can of worms... I think a lot of people listen to certain music because it's "revolutionary" or it "changed something" and all that is well and good. But fuck, if it's not entertaining to my ears, then I don't really give a fuck. For example, Rage Against the Machine may have changed some shit but that doesn't mean I have to listen to them, just acknowledge their shittiness and the fact that they had an American Flag upside down on their amps (whoa!!!!!!!) and go on. |
looks like my statement was a bit controversial.
but to make myself clear, when i said it "changed some shit" i wasn't talking about it's "historical importance" or "influential status" or whatever as i hardly take that into consideration. but listening to that record a few years ago? that changed some shit. |
^^word.
I got into the pixies much later in life than most of you on here and most people I know who are as snobby as me... I got into Nirvana in 4th grade...got into the Pixies when I was 20. Shame on me.. but yes, surfa rosa had the same effect on me as nevermind did and the same with the first time I heard goo (first sonic record i heard) and the same with the first time I heard the beatles or 'is this it' by the strokes. I think everyone of those albums killed a few brain cells and created a few mutations in my head... |
surfer rosa...
yep |
