Yes :) |
This is difficult, but I'll list ten I thoroughly enjoy:
1. - Buddy Guy - Baby Please Don't Leave Me 2. - Stooges - Down On The Street 3. - Junior Kimbrough - Lord Have Mercy On Me 4. - Led Zeppelin - How Many More Times 5. - Soundgarden - 4th of July 6. - Mudhoney - Tales of Terror 7. - Melvins - Honey Bucket 8. - Nirvana - Milk It 9. - Jimi Hendix - Catfish Blues (yeah, a cover I know. Still, I prfer his version to Muddy's) 10. - Howlin' Wolf - Smokestack Lightnin' ...something like that. |
i must say I am quite pleased that Sabbath is dominating Zeppelin on this thread, as they rightfully should by the way, but y'all all know I got Jerry G on the brain when it comes to guitar licks :)
also, here is one of the all-time most popular/mainstream and yet powerful of reggae guitar riffs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDMxLbMcjxY] the OG concrete jungle |

That four part riff in Polvo's Bridesmaid Blues. Definitely up there.
|
George Harrison's guitar solo on "And your bird can sing" is a sick little riff. I could see where Television probably took influence from that style of playing, as the Strokes later took notes from.
