First CD I can remember that I paid half for, and my brother put in the other half and this was when CDs were like 18 bucks we got Guns 'N Roses Appetite For Destruction.

Yeah - although I had burned a lot of my iTunes stuff onto CD-Rs, and I had a CD player (well, was borrowing my parents). But yeah, I'm practically a baby for you all. |

My first three cassettes I bought with own allowance:

I honestly don’t remember.
With my own money from an allowance? Probably something like Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous,” or one of the Beatles albums I was into when I was really young, specifically “Sgt. Pepper’s...” or “Abbey Road.” First album from a paying job? No way I can remember. Something in the mid-‘90s when I was a camp counselor for a brief shitty summer spent as a camp counselor. |

Low-key wondering if you’re too young to be here. |

Define 'too young'. |

you’re too old to be here and so am i— but i dont give a shit, thus im exempt from these notions i think adam was like 14 when he started posting in the old fullerene board? ciaran mackle. emmah. schizo. derek. n’ik. there were a bunch of kids here back when the board was more alive. i mean, some people grew up here actually. say a 14 year old i the 2002 fullerene would be 30 today. who linked this the other day? https://www.theindy.org/453 ANYWAY. dont shoo away the kid! she’s saving us from becoming a sad geriatric ward the grandkids don’t visit XD XD XD |

It's weird to me, the whole Internet forum experience. Having grown up with Twitter (and no, I'm not sharing mine), it's throwing me off to see things time-stamped 2006. Kind of like stepping back in time. |

Too young for it not to be creepy for old fucks like us to be interacting with you is what I mean. But Symbols is right. |

And I was four years old in 2006, cut me some slack. |
america is a weird place, nuclear families and schools age-segregate, and so people grow up with weird notions
nothing creepy about interacting with people of different ages unless some sicko makes it creepy lol i grew up in a large multigenerational compound and never had a problem with older folk it was the people my own age who were the insufferable shits haaa haa haa. not my cousins, but the neighbors. flash foward, just spent the tg week horsing around with the nephews who are elementary school kids. all great fun and lols, until their neighbors kid showed up and started acting like a fucking brat. fortunately my wife put a stop to that and gave her a scolding haaa haaa haaa. when we left they were begging us not to go. see. |

Haha...my girlfriend was jokingly giving me shit about something like this. I dropped off this 18 year old kid at home after he came over to play street fighter....it wasn't only him here...other friends too(diverse age group)...didn't really strike me at how weird it was until she asked how old he was....yeah...Back in Chicago the age ranged from 21-40(I'm sure some younger folk would play too if we weren't in a bar)...and no one really cared..... |

What was the fullerene board? That must've preceded me. Adam was early 20's when I was heavily active here. I think emmah was about my age... that was Hayden's friend - right? I was 17 when I joined. 27 now. Derek was younger than me... he might've been the 14 y.o. I don't remember n'ik's age, just the absolute terror he would ensue on everyone here. I remember him, Derek, ASP, and I all donning KoRn avatars for a short while hahaha. Just pure chaos. He went heavy after sway in particular. My user notes are still flooded by some very odd images left behind by n'ik... too bad he was banned. Dude had some serious struggles w/ depression and excluding him from SYG probably didn't help. But yeah, I love seeing new blood here (whatup choc eclaire). Half the reason I kept leaving was because the board felt so dead. I know for dudes like Noise, it's the same issue. I still wonder where some members went: Derek, knox, floatingslowly, porky, etc. Hell, looks like even SuchFriends and Dead-Air eventually took off - they were SYG staples. It all feels like a fever dream now. |
this was the fullerene board
https://web.archive.org/web/20030304...uth.com/gossip bet you i can find an old atsonicpark post there |
