Two shifts even? Next year you'll cover the entire 24 hours? :D
I read that Alan Sparhawk is involved again as well, and Jessica Moss too. The other names were unfamiliar to me.

Have fun!

Lea Bertucci is the big name this year, it seems. I'm sure all 12 people in this area who read The Wire regularly will turn up for that. She will also be making an appearance at a lovely house venue in the area the Sunday after, which is another good opportunity.

In this area? Isn't that their whole readership?

If you have the bandcamp app, subscribe to them to get your daily dosage of drone for the entire month of January or god knows how long it will last.

I wanted to say "it's not about the quality but the quantity", but that would be a lie and insulting. So judge for yourself.

In addition to what I already wrote about the Silber Media label, anyone interested in a dronery warehouse sale?

Hello,
I hope all is well. As you may already know we are losing our storage space at the end of the month. We have a sale going where you get 12 CDs for $6 plus shipping and it will be ending soon if you are interested. Spread the word if you can. silbermedia.bandcamp.com/merch/12-cd-warehouse-cleaning-special

THANK YOU for the reminder!

I found that from following the link to your original post. However, I didn’t realize the music was mostly drone : )

Just learning of this Houston project: Astrogenic Hallucinating

I’ll get to see them next month as they are playing a NOIZE benefit with five other noise musicians.

"Our storage space is being knocked down & we'd rather give the music to you than the bulldozer." On one hand, hey, cheap stuff, cool - but it's heartbreaking as well. :( Similar to what's going on with Bomp! Records: "As you guys know from my previous emails, the legendary RAINBO Records, who has been the pressing plant for BOMP/VOXX/AIP and ALIVE since the 70's, has suddenly gone out of business, and we're scrambling to get things in order. We are forced to let many titles go out of print, and some great music is about to be lost to history, so get the last copies while you can!"

Just learning of Important Drone Records. Sadly, all these cassettes are sold out......but the BandCamp DL is cheap on the tinker and each track is 40+ minutes long.

The great Kim Cascone (Poison Gas Research) via his resurrected Silent Records has released:

Not as often as I should!

I do know 2019 was a big year for him.

Touch 5 is a favorite.

Music for Cello was pretty good last year!

It's amazing that he has been making basically the same composition for 60+ years, and it never gets old.

For SY fans he has a guitar piece upon which Jim, Lee, and Tmoore play. (also Alan Licht and Rafael Toral!)

Bytor Peltor 03.07.2020 10:54 PM

an evening of drones and moans featuring:

LIIA - Amelia Coulter makes big messy sounds with brass and electronics to deal with big messy feelings. She is interested in the discovery of new and uncomfortable ways to use the trombone via alternative techniques, modifications, and integration with analog synth signal chains.

UNDESIRABLE BODY - Ebony Miranda is a cellist, activist, and educator in the Seattle, Washington area. In their solo project, Undesirable Body focuses on releasing karmic energy and inner turmoil, with themes surrounding race, gender/sexuality, and trauma as an influence - as well as exploring extended technique, alternate tuning, and timbre of the cello. Besides solo work, Ebony also performs in their duo, PREYER, with percussionist Adam Briggs.

NOEL KENNON is a violist, dishwasher, record collector, instrument builder, and composer living in Seattle, WA

Prana Crafter, Erik Davis, Aubrey Nehring - Sounds From The Bardo Vol. 1

Sounds from the Bardo is a new album-based series of immersive journeys produced by Psychedelic Sangha.

Each ‘transmission’ is a unique sensory adventure featuring ~1 hour of guided meditation, exclusive music and accompanying video light show.

In 1966 Drs. Richard Alpert, Timothy Leary, and Ralph Metzner released The Psychedelic Experience, an album designed to be used as an audio guide for navigating the inner space of the bardo. “Bardo,” in this case, being Tibetan for the liminal space of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep—a hypnagogic state wherein the mind is untethered from the body and free to experience new ways of engaging in sensory experience.

Sounds from the Bardo is inspired by The Psychedelic Experience LP in that it aims to provide a stand-alone album that can be used to explore the bardo. SftB also acts as a virtual, ‘packable’ compliment to the in-person Bardo Bath series Psychedelic Sangha has been hosting at Judson Memorial Church and HiFi Loft in NYC.

Listeners may experience the albums as they wish, choosing to guide their journey via in these original performances of light, sound and meditation.

Enter the psychedelic realm of the Misfit Seeker — welcome, friends.
