not really into the first track, but the second tracks rules hard.
|
Why is it that the people who order their copy legitimitely will be the last to hear this? I'm still waiting on my copy.
|
i'm still waiting on my copy as well, but curiosity got the better of me.
|
I hit the indie record store.
they had copies. the whole thing RULES |

I can overstand that, it's been getting the better of me, but somehow I've held off. |
Still waiting on my vinyl, but I listened to me eMusic copy this morning. "J'Accuse" is incredible. I actually like it more than "Agnes B"
|
Got mine today!Wohoo!!! Had a smoke, got under my duvet, and threw on the record-Unbelievable! Love both tracks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Agnes B" is especially beautiful.....
|
i really like Agnes B.
|
got mine today too and i am going to listen to it as soon as i can get the shrink wrap off!
|
i like agnes b alot
didn't like the vocals/lyrics on side 1,although i feel a strange urge to read good housekeeping |
I just realized something, forgive me if its already been mentioned.
Is the picture of Thurston on the cover from a magazine/newspaper with a bad review for a "Goodbye 20th Century" show. If it is that would be pretty awesome... I mean it says "THURSTON MOORE, GOODBYE 20TH CENTURY, GOODBYE TALENT" |
hah, it's funny then. i didn't know that.

it is. i remember seeing it a few years ago, i believe it was a british music rag. -a |
Might have been the NME, I hate those bastards!
|
It was indeed the NME.
I hit up 4 indie stores today looking for this - one had sold out already, 2 weren't expecting them until the middle of next week and the last one had no idea what I was talking about but said "um, yeah, I think that's been delayed actually". Bah! |

Because they're an agenda-driven machine. They exist to promote the latest drivel and make money by doing so; not to respect good bands who are already established and don't need or care about NME. |
It's a shame kids latch onto what they write about.
|
J'Accuse Ted Hughes is a gorgeous, dreamy mindfuck, even more potent than I recalled it. Listening to it now, it reminds me a lot of the Mirror/Dash side I Can't Be Bought...
|
weird how pitchfork hasn't reviewed it yet. how am I suppose to know if I like it or not?
|
just got mine copy today, all i need now is turnable, hehe. can't wait to hear some rip, before i get som player, might take some time.

This is funny. Taken from diskant.net:
"...it never even occurred to me to leave early for SONIC YOUTH and, in retrospect, I'm extremely thankful for that as we arrived upstairs to a wailing cacophany of noise. Actually that makes it sound much better than it was. It was as if they had picked some pensioners off the street who had never seen musical instruments before and were just guessing how to play them. Kim Gordon did mention she'd been having difficulty making coffee in their chalet so maybe they were missing their caffeine buzz or something. I could point out that there were parts of the set that I enjoyed when they made some fantastic noises but that would be like offering excuses for a band whose arrogance disappointed so many people who'd been prepared to overlook a little self-indulgence in return for some wonder. Instead they seriously pissed off a number of longtime fans and ruined rock day for everyone. How they managed to get an encore I'll never know and that they then had the cheek to play a proper song (i.e Sunday) is just frightening." |

hahhaha! what were they expecting? |

this is for the non-vinyl user !!! password : sonic-youth.blogspot.com |
from sy newsletter:
"Digital downloads of SYR7 and more will be available for purchase directly from sonicyouth.com in May." I know that not everyone is keen on spending money for digitally delivered goods, but I think that "this is supposed to be for the non-vinyl users"....that is, if you still think that it's worth to pay money for sy releases. oh, just to clarify, I don't mean to "attack" specifically you or anything, I just think posting links for sy stuff just released/officially and widely available is plain wrong on here. |
i dont know if it's wrong or not, i just think it doesnt need more publicity.
