Does anyone know how I can make various songs into an mp3 for mac users?

SynthethicalY 10.03.2007 04:09 AM

P.S. Porky downloading it.

sarramkrop 10.03.2007 04:14 AM

alyasa 10.03.2007 06:24 AM

Thank you, sarra, seems like a nice mix... :)

sarramkrop 10.03.2007 07:05 AM

The peel sessions version of Nico's Secret side is one of my favourite vocal deliveries ever. It rips right into your soul and it sounds like humanity in hell.

alyasa 10.03.2007 07:09 AM

Can't wait to hear it...

oh. my. gawd.

I listened to this on the drive to work (it's a long drive), and although I'm still not done with it, I already want to listen to it again.

there are usually moments in my life when I'm really hit with the fact that I'm just not as cool as someone one else (nor ever will be). this is one of those times. it's not like there was any doubt before, but solid proof can be humbling.

I couldn't make anything like this if I tried.

Savage Clone 10.03.2007 08:43 AM

That does look like a fine mix.
I'll download that later, and maybe post one while I'm at it.

HairwayToSteven 10.03.2007 09:42 AM

Your mix is fantastic, Porkmarras. I've been listening to it all morning. Thank you.

sarramkrop 10.03.2007 10:02 AM

Thanks guys, I'm glad that you've enjoyed it. It was meant to go to mixtape round 11, but I seem to have less time and patience for making mix tapes, these days.

floatingslowly 10.03.2007 11:53 AM

I've been afraid to upload a mix, because I didn't want to feel like I was taking away from the Mix Tapez gig (but I think it would be fun [and much easier]).

now I'm afraid to do it because the last two mixes I've listened to from other board members make me question my personal coolativity....well....that and I don't want Glice to call me lazy if I felt like including David Bowie or TJAMC.

:(

I'm not cool and I'm lazy. I know that now.

Tokolosh 10.04.2007 03:23 AM

I got shivers down my spine from Nico's Secret Side. Lovely mix. Thanks.

But the purpose of this thread was that of having people post their mixes if they didn't participate in the mixtape exchanges, so it's not like a competition about who's more cool or anything. Admittedly, I am really cool and Paris Hilton has my name and number on her mobile phone, but that's nothing to do with my mixes. I wouldn't worry about Glice's opinions of your selections because last time that he made me a mixtape it was all Vera Lynn, Burzum , Berlin-era Bowie, Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello etc. When I listened to it, somehow I felt a bit racist.

Everyneurotic 10.18.2007 11:50 AM

i made a mixcd for my friend who went off to toronto for two months, she's familiar with like 2 or 3 bands in this mix (kyuss, cheap trick and jimmy eat world), but i tried zeroing the things she likes in music and show her stuff that have those qualities but that sound different, i also tried to keep it basic. so here's the track list:

That's one of my all time favorite songs right there.

Right now I'm working on a mix with "punk" songs and good time great oldies. I'm def. taking my time with it because I want it to kick ass. I've been going through this folder I have of the "500 Greatest Oldies" that I found a few years back. I might make it a 2 disc mix, but I'm not sure yet.

mine too!!! i think unhalfbricking is one of the most perfect records ever made and certainly in my top three all time favorites.

i love mixes that take time to develop, i also like mixes that get planned naturally too. i made a two disc one recently for someone i traded bootlegs with and it ended up being two discs long. i might rip and post that one, it's mostly skronky rock...at least rob instigator would like it.

i got a flaming new stereo and now i can make mixtapes and i find it faster and easier than making mixcds so now i'm concentrating on doing those.

i would love to at least see your final greatest oldies mix tracklist.

krastian 02.25.2008 10:01 PM

Yeah, I def. get the ol' notebook out and scribble like a weird mad scientist when planning a mix....it's really fun.

I'd be down for some skronky rock for sure...do you have a tracklist?

I'll up the mix I'm working on now if it ends up as awesome as I hope it will be.

Do they have good oldies stations in Mexico? Sometimes nothing is better.

and no, no good oldies station here, most play hits of the eighties (well, that's good but still...) and disco; this one station has the "beatles hour" everyday where they play "love me do" and "hey jude" and all the songs that have been played to death. you said it, sometimes nothing's better.

StevOK 02.25.2008 10:39 PM

I made a mix for someone (username Good Morning Captain) on a different message board. I think a lot of it I downloaded here, but I'm sure it will be worth the dl for those interested.

krastian 02.25.2008 10:43 PM

Edit - EN

Very nice set, very nice.

I kind of had a feeling that there weren't any good oldies stations over there.....I guess you can stream some stations in through your computer if you ever get the itch.
