I'm hungry. Has anyone got any chocolate I can have, please?

ThePits 07.16.2007 11:20 AM

I wish I were a glow worm
I mean how can you be miserable when the sun shines out of your arse?

sonicl 07.16.2007 11:21 AM

Very miserable if you're hungry. Give me some of your chocolate, Mr GloWorm. And none of that cheap shite.

nicfit 07.16.2007 11:30 AM

http://www.andyw.com/sunra/elsaturn.htm it's much better than irrelevant, but I didn't want to open a thread just for that and searching sun ra is impossible on this board. uqqqhsahhasdljojfòlsdjihapi!!!

A 180ft chalk figure of Homer Simpson painted beside the famous Cerne Abbas giant in Dorset hasn't gone down well with the Pagan community.

Springfield's own favourite rude man, dressed only in his briefs and brandishing his beloved doughnut, was painted on the hill to promote the new Simpsons movie. But Pagans are praying for rain to wash away the display next to the Cerne giant, which is considered to be an ancient symbol for fertility.

Ann Bryn-Evans, joint Wessex district manager for The Pagan Federation, said: "We were hoping for some dry weather but I think I have changed my mind. We'll be doing some rain magic to bring the rain and wash it away." She added: "I'm amazed they got permission to do something so ridiculous. It's an area of scientific interest."

The Cerne Abbas giant is the largest figure on a hill in Britain, but it is unknown when it first appeared.

I don't feel like making yet another MBV thread, especially when I don't quite know the credibility of the source of this information, but:

From 411Mania
Hello!!,

Quint here, formerly known as Antistar. I used to post here about a year ago before the upgrade nightmare but enough of that...I went over to see Mogwai at Somerset House, London but while waiting for them to come on who should walk past only the Godlike genius that is Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine, creator of 'Loveless', one the greatest albums of all time and my all-time rock hero. Anyway, to cut a long story short and thanks to about 4 pints-worth of Dutch courage, I approached him as I would have regretted it for the rest of my life if I hadn't. He is one of the nicest, unassuming guys you could ever meet. So much for the 'never meet your heroes' rule. I asked him any chance of a new album or tour and here's the scoop...

2 new albums: One an anthology of unreleased material from the nineties, and a completely new album.

A tour in 2008!

He also mentioned that they were asked to play a gig 'at some museum in Dublin later in the year' as he put it, I presume this is POD marquee thing at IMMA in late Oct/November but he didn't seem that sure whether they were going to play as they are not ready yet to play live until the proper tour next year....

There have been rumours before about MBV reunion but this was from the main man himself and he seemed pretty definite about their upcoming plans....here's hoping!

Apparently Shields has been at plenty of gigs around London of late and when approached has been telling people very similar things.

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:14 AM

Nice Mr Cameron is absolutely slaughtering Gordon Brown today on PMQ's.

Pookie 07.18.2007 06:19 AM

The good thing about the latest opinion polls is that the public can see through the 'nice Mr. Cameron'.

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:21 AM

They're just being fooled by stinky labour lies.

Pookie 07.18.2007 06:28 AM

He's another in a looooong line of Tory leaders who you just feel the need to slap. Not hard, I'm not a violent person. Just a slap so it stings a little.

Two reasons:
1. Being a Tory
2. Being smarmy

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:30 AM

Nah.

1. Nothing wrong with being a conservative.
2. It's certainly better than being labourist.

Pookie 07.18.2007 06:32 AM

That's as close to an argument I'm going to have with you I think.

Although I'm just going to add this, before scarpering to hide behind the nearest girl I can find:

:p

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:38 AM

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I'm going to tell on you.

HEY MISS, POOKIE STUCK HIS TONGUE OUT AT ME. He's so mean.

:(

sonicl 07.18.2007 06:41 AM

Oh dear. I'd forgotten what sort of thing always happens when we allow Hip Priest and Pookie to play together.

Hip: What have I told you before about coming to the board during daylight hours?
Pookie: Don't you have some books to stack or something?

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:43 AM

I only came here to relax a bit it's not fair all I did was call someone nice and then Pookie stuck his tongue at me why can't I just call someone nice I like Dave that's all I think he's good he's sent me some emails that are dead dead nice and Pookie stuck his tongue out at me I've had a hard week I just want to relax but Pookie stuck his tongue at me wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

sonicl 07.18.2007 06:46 AM

Why did I give up the kindergarten job?

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:49 AM

Pookie has to say sorry first I'm not saying sorry first because it wasn't my fault If Pookie says sorry and isn't mean to my mate Dave and doesn't stick his tongue out at me he can have a piece of my fudge.

sonicl 07.18.2007 06:55 AM

I don't think he's too keen on fudge. It dates back to his days in a factory that made the stuff. His job was putting it in the boxes.

He hates to be reminded that he used to be a fudgepacker :D

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:57 AM

Just putting fudge into boxes all day? Gosh, That must have been a pain in the neck.

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:58 AM

Ass. Dammit!

Damn damn damn damn damn damn.

Tokolosh 07.18.2007 06:58 AM

I'd just like to say that I'm sandwiched between Nefeli and Cantankerous. ... :p

Ps: Pookie! Stop teasing the Priest or I'll send you to the principle for a good caning.

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 07:01 AM

ner ner ner ner ner ner ner ner ner ner Pookie has to behay-ave Pookie has to behay-ave ner ner ner ner ner.

sonicl 07.18.2007 07:03 AM

You're going to find yourself sitting on the swings on your own at playtime if you don't stop telling tales.

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 07:05 AM

So what i don't even like the swings I've brought a football I'm going to play football at breaktime but if people stick out tongues at me and say rude things about my friends then I won't let them play anyway I'll play on my own at least if I'm on my own no-one will put tongues out at me.

sonicl 07.18.2007 07:08 AM

[sighs]Okay, Hip. Don't let me stop you[/sighs]

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 07:10 AM

I've stopped sulking now.

Anyway, I'm exhausted. Do you want to hear why It's been a hard week? Oh. I'll tell you anyway.

On Friday my partner/girlfriend/whatever finally went to hospital to have her recurring dental abcess removed. That went OK, but she had to rest over the weekend and so we booke Monday off work to do something nice, but early Monday she took it upon herself to fall outside the newsagents' shop, dislocating her ankle and breaking it in three places. So we've been in an ambulance or at the hospital since yesterday morning (excellent service all round) and she's had an operation to put plates and pins in the joint. It went well, and it'll work out OK.

Poor lass. I hope she makes a speedy recovery. Does she like Wine Gums, or Liquorice Allsorts? If she does, I'll send her some as a get well present.

edit - This is addressed to Hip Priest. However, if Nefeli would like some wine gums to make her feel better, she can have some too.

Cheers. She can't really chew for a while, though, beause of the stitches from the abcess thing. It's soft stuff only.

sonicl 07.18.2007 07:15 AM

Whoops-a-daisy, that was a bit insensitive of me, wasn't it? How about if I just send her a card instead?

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 07:16 AM

Not at all, it was lovely.

sonicl 07.18.2007 07:18 AM

And I could put you onto page two! Let's not start a war, eh?
