So, yesterday I booked a flight to the States for february.
When I told my mum she asked me if I was sure if whether my passport would be valid long enough. Since I don't carry my passport when traveling through Germany, I could not check yet (still at my mum's). Just to shake off one thing that makes me nervous about this: my passport only has to be valid for the actual duration of my stay, right? does anyone know? |

They would require your passport to be valid for at least six months in order to let you in. If it would expire before that, they are likely to deny you entry (in which case, you wouldn't be allowed to board the plane). That's how I understand it works for Mexicans, at least. EDIT: Reading around, there are exceptions to that rule and they would only require your passport to be valid for your intended period of stay, Nici. That in case you'd had your password issued whether in Germany, or Australia. Many other countries are part of this exception, too. :) http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/104770.pdf |

(sorry, it's 6:40 am and I've been awake all night watching covert affairs and eating sausages, my head is very slow and i get easily confused rn) either way: thank you for reading up on it edit: it confuses me cause for me what you wrote sounds like my passport would only have to be valid for the duration of my stay, but in the link you posted mexico (as well as germany) is on the list and you wrote that they'd need an additional 6 months? |
i guess i'll just apply for ESTA next week and then i'll see

No, you're good to go. It's actually a list of exceptions to the six months rule. No need to worry any further. My post was a bit confusing. Sorry about that. I'll try to articulate better next time. May you enjoy your trip to the land of the free. :) |
thank you very much, hipster_bebop_junkie!
you are my hero! now i can't wait to get back to hamburg and apply for ESTA! |

We were in Gruene, Tx this morning and saw an old placard at a dance hall. Year was 1952 and the hall was featuring Hank Williams, Red Foley, and Ray Price. In small letters at the bottom of the placard was: " New and upcoming singer: Patsy Cline." The best part was: Special Seating $1.25, Reserved Seats 75 cents, General Admission 50 cents. Those were the days. Ha

March 5th is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. I'm going to be frank.....I'm pretty fucking excited for this. I guess tickets are selling out and only 2nd balcony are left(in a placewith GA?). But yeah...got me Ground Floor GA...This is going to be weird....you know...going all out in public n shit with my guilty pleasure....I do hope there is a nice view from the bar though(I've never been to this venue)....
oh yeah...best news is that I'm not going alone and I didn't have to convince anyone to go with me. EDIT: Nakata's works are finally being brought to the USA! Hopefully thing will encourage Perfume to perfume in the States really soon. |
