Woo! DJ KOZE presents Pampa Vol. 1

Fucking finally, something from Koze in 2016. I'd be really stoked if he did an actual album, but this will serve.

Bought it the minute I realized it was out. Already in my top 5 of the year. A sweet compilation by techno's greatest psychedelic mastermind, featuring a shit ton of artists

^^ I highly recommend this to any fans of bright, effervescent electronic music. Never mind the Jamie XX and DNTL appearances. The record does a really nice job of representing the Koze/PAMPA sound and vibe.

Released a week ago and nobody said shit. Fuck AMG, fuck Metacritic and fuck all of us.

Well, what is your first impression of the first new Radiohead song Burn the Witch? I think its a solid song. I don't know if the album is coming out tomorrow, this weekend, or even this month. I think the fact we know so little does make me even more eager to hear it.

It's a good song, but I'm hoping for more "SPECTRE," and less "Burn the Witch" on the new album. It's musically interesting, but it's a bit lazy lyrically in my opinion.

Then again, no Radiohead pre-release single has really pumped me up since "2+2=5."

Looks like we might be getting a new Autechre album this year, as guest noted in the "autechre - exai" thread. This would he absolutely epic, of course.

As if that wasn't an exciting enough little nugget of speculation, there's also a new single from Plaid that just dropped yesterday, titled "the Bee." It's nowhere near as good as Autechre's "Feed 1" — more of a traditional, light, "for the fuck of it" kind of song. But still... a new Plaid AND a new Autechre would really get the old blood pumping.

Plaid is a great, great act. And they've lost none of their spark over the years. Reaching Prints was one of the best albums of 2014.

Looking forward to hearing more from both of these cherished acts in the months to come.

still need to listen to that new Autechre song.
was a bit let down by Mark Pritchard's album, but if Warp's got a new Autechre record forthcoming I'm all for it.

really looking forward to Flowdan's album this summer, this should be massive. Oh and the new Jessy Lanza album is finally out and it's a beauty

I'm liking the Jessy Lanza album quite a bit.

The new Kaytranada is great too by the way.

the jessy lanza record is fucking excellent, that first single was a masterpiece and while the record doesn't live up to that it's still awesome to see her blossoming into an actual veritable popstar. with this and the babyfather record (undoubtedly the best thing to come out this year) hyperdub are really on top at the moment.

guest 05.18.2016 09:08 PM

everytime I come to this thread I get sick to my stomach. so much shitty new boring music it's unbelievable.

" hey, check this band out that sound like this".

"no".

you know, just saying, just saying I find, you and you this and that, a needle in a hay stack.

then, I remember why the hip hop thread is so popular...because everything else is shit.

pepper_green 05.18.2016 11:06 PM

I mean, you can tell me if I am crazy or not but nothing sounds outrageous and new anymore unless it's hip hop and even that's talking it's toll. it's all boring for 'commercials' music. bunch of junk!! crap boring junk. with boring slick art album covers that look good on pitchfork promotion sections.

and old users here worry about what new users think us. we're a bunch of boring cunts. that's what they think.

why? IDM is all behind you. it happen. it's done. like rock n roll. hip hop and jazz. instead of enjoying yrself you can better spend yr time as culture music archaeologist instead. doing research on how humans enjoyed information via vibration signals to the eardrum.

maybe 2012 really was the start of a paradigm shift after all.

SonicBebs 05.19.2016 01:24 AM

I'm looking forward to the new Beth Orton. Produced by the guy from the Fuck Buttons so that should be interesting.
Still haven't heard Anohni yet so looking forward to that
