Very true. I put the Machina II version of Try on a mix cd I made for my wife when we first started dating. :D

RanaldoNecro 04.07.2009 12:26 PM

I listen to Machina II a lot. It's a great album.

Phlegmscope 04.07.2009 06:25 PM

I think there's great stuff on siamese dream, at least. but this is one of those bands I should've gotten into about 12 years ago, if I ever were to get into them, and I didn't nor I ever really heard their albums. Anyway, corgan's been doing great job at becoming a boring old hack.

blah blah blah

I'm pretty sure it was intended to be released as a double album, but Virgin would not allow it.

I thought it was that Machina II was sposed to be a double album, and Virgin didn't like it so Billy & Co. released it themselves? Maybe I'm wrong. But the 2 albums DO sound like diff. sessions to my ears.

samuel 04.07.2009 08:28 PM

Virgin didn't want MACHINA to be a double album because the Adore sales weren't so impressive. They also refused to release II separately, so Billy released it himself... just five months after the first.

The whole MACHINA saga is a bit confusing.

At least one thing is for sure, ADORE is the greatest album of all time.

(Maybe not, but it's amazing)

deflinus 04.08.2009 11:13 AM

one of the 15 MACHINA II vinyl records Billy gave to fans was put up for sale on Ebay. price went as high as $3,000 i think, but he changed his mind

Jesus, help me find my proper place

noisereductions 04.08.2009 11:19 AM

yes, I love ADORE.

RanaldoNecro 04.08.2009 05:37 PM

I find Billy exhausting. But he does write great stuff. I saw them a couple monthes ago and the MC/SD/Gish band is dead.

The violinsit was super-hot...

joe11121 04.08.2009 05:43 PM

Yes, she is.

I relistened to some of my Smashing Pumpkins records yesterday... which I had not done for a few years. Siamese Dream has some of the most PERFECT songs ever... honestly, Soma, Mayonaise and Luna are all amazing. Pieces Iscariot or whatever it's called has some great songs on it... some horrible...

and Adore... well, I like one or two songs. :o

atsonicpark 04.09.2009 09:30 AM

I'm waiting any day now for some indie shit band to do a loud electric version of "Disarm" and have a hit single.
