plus i totally dig that naked lady tattoo.

LOL, no. I wasn't responding to your post, but the one above with the website asking people to predict her death. I tend to agree with you actually.

Everyneurotic 06.10.2008 09:09 AM

other than her music being trendy hipster shit, her being famous for being a tabloid personality, her voice being atrocious and her hairdo incredibly gross; i really don't give much thought about her.

sarramkrop 06.10.2008 09:11 AM

They should turn Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse into a videogame, so that one could orchestrate their destruction from a comfortable seat.

Cantankerous 06.10.2008 09:21 AM

throw kate moss in there with them and amy's incarcerated blaaaaaaaaake.

Toilet & Bowels 06.10.2008 09:30 AM

i would hardly call amy whinehouse trendy or hipster, she's as mainstream as things get in the uk at the moment

Everyneurotic 06.10.2008 10:06 AM

trendy as in reviving the music of early to mid-sixties spector/motown/etc. like the pippetes and duffy and all that.

Oh come now, I feel a rare compulsion to disagree with you on that one:

Amy Winehouse won 6 grammys. What more does one need to be mainstream? She's on every trashy tabloid rag almost every day. Tabloids are not fanzines. She's the junkies' princess.

her music is bigger than theirs ever was

demonrail666 06.10.2008 10:16 AM

So is her hair, at least with regard the taller one on the left. Can never remember whether it's Ant or Dec.

EMMAh 06.10.2008 10:19 AM

I don't like her music, it's not really my thing.

white british people have been ripping that stuff of pretty much non-stop for the last 40 years, it's not really a new trend at all.

EMMAh 06.10.2008 10:22 AM

Jeez, I hope you don't have to hear that crap all the time.

Everyneurotic 06.10.2008 10:25 AM

my thoughts exactly, emmah.

i love the ronettes as much as the next guy but watered down retro imitations, no thanks!

by the way, i wasn't implying she was underground in any degree, but it's certainly a favorite of the hipster set as much as she is for the radio friendly folk. at least here and in some circles in the u.s. as i've read.

Today I was at the Rock en Seine festival, it was not so bad.
At the end of the Raconteurs' gig (which was decent), the organizer anounced that Amy Whinehouse show was called off, like the last year.
I was the only one who was laughing....
Yeah, nice shot Amy !!! Dont go to the rehab, you're perfect !!!
EDIT : I didn't go to the festival to see her, I specify.

Danny Himself 08.29.2008 08:38 PM

Cantankerous 08.29.2008 08:40 PM

i completely revoke every positive statement i made about her
other than that she is entertaining but then most crackheads are

Danny Himself 08.29.2008 08:42 PM

amy winehouse [attempting sass]: "excuse me, but do i look like russell brand?"
simon amstell: "yes."

sarramkrop 08.29.2008 08:58 PM

I'm bored with her too.
