These days, I co-own a vintage shop specializing in furniture mostly, but we also do clothing and records and barware/housewares etc. Naturally I wrangle the record room but I also spend a couple of days a week restoring furniture in the workshop and I bring large heavy things into people's houses of course. I don't think I'm ever going to get away from that. I get to see a lot of different kinds of homes, and it's cool to work in a field I'm actually interested in. It's mostly 50s and 60s Scandinavian stuff, which I think will always do rather well in this area, but there's also the cool fiberglass mod stuff I enjoy and some awesome machine age relics that show their age and their former lives.it's a lot of work and none of us could actually afford to shop at our own store, but I feel very comfortable with what I'm doing for once.

Real Saarinen chairs are pretty expensive. We sold a set of four with a table (all legit) for $8000.00 last year. We have four of the chairs right now actually. Legit ones are hard to come by but we get the Burke version pretty often too.

pretty simple setup: yagi antenna and 2100 Mhz amplifier, we use it mainly for voice.

i’ll take a picture when i go there this weekend.

if you’re using it for data you could just piggyback it to one of those 4G USB modems.

oh, satellite has improved speed and raised caps in the last couple of years, but it also hiked prices and requires a 2 year contract plus new installation fees. pricey as hell vs. regular service, but would be worth it and a better deal than cell modems if we still lived there.

here for some reason they shaft you on the cell modems

i mean american internet in general is both pricey and mediocre vs other countries

likely smaller/higher population density allows more efficient use of the infrastructure there—just a guess

I just applied for a job in NYC.
Wonder if they'll ever respond.
