Well, sorta. Not the usual mainstream hype, I mean just the critical hype--Pitchfork et al. The reviews were so good, but I just didn't "get it." Just sound so "pop" to me. |
I have a bunch of Springsteen I bought in the 70s and 80s that I can't stand.
I knew why I bought it at the time, but now they just sit there. |

Nothing wrong with a bit of Anthrax

I can't say I have an album I regret buying.
However, I have to say I disagree about what most of you guys are saying about Funeral. I think it's pretty good. |
I have to say Arcade Fire's Funeral is, indeed, an album (on vinyl, no less) that I felt I just had to have last year--and that I never really came to appreciate. I tried. I gave it several listens, and I just could not get into it.
The cover art is beautiful, though. So I'll keep it. |
I haven't heard the Arcade Fire that much. The drummer is a friend of my brothers though

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
is another that just makes me go "What the hell was I thinking!!" |
I also bought the first Pearl Jam LP.:o
In my defence, I hadn't heard them and just knew of the Mudhoney connection. |

"Rebellion (Lies)" is a decent indie track. The rest is a pile of oh-I-wanna-be-so-sensitive horse shit |

i second that |
So what do you do with albums you hate? Sell/trade them? Keep them?
|
1)Throw them in the bin
2)Use them as beermats(if they are cds) 3)Give them to charity shops 4)Flog them 5)Ebay them 6)Torture them 7)Burn them 8)Eat them |
It's something I'm always on the fence about, whether to take my rejects into the used record store. The return is never very good--2 or 3 bucks at the most per record or CD for most stuff. I've given a few things away to people who want them, and there's more reward in that, actually.
