i mean that i can't just say 'sorry, i don't want to eat any of the food you make hereanymore, and i won't go out to eat with you on your birthdays because you can't guarantee me that all the food is animal friendly.'

i can try to 'change the world'in my own way, in different ways too. it's been ages since i've been in a car, most of my clothes are recycled in some way, same for my furniture, stuff etc. plus i'm trying to be nice to others and make people's day a good one.

I'm the kind of guy who would rather eat a burger and then turn to the guy next to me and tell him we're going to hell.

maybe it's because i didn't become a vegetarian out of ethical issues, those came later: the taste and smell of meat just disgusts me, i never wanted to eat it.

I'm no vegan, nor vegetarian but if you are going to compare animal suffering then you should consider the details. Live-stock factory farming is largely unethical for the same concerns of overcrowding, sanitation, confinement, and general treatment.

True but that doesn't mean eggs are bad for you. Also there's been alot of cracking down on that sort of thing in the past 10 years, it's not always done that way and you can always buy free range eggs. Not eating eggs isn't going to fix that problem at all

I know, which is why I advocate legislation over attempting to live organically or whatever. Here in California, I was glad to see Proposition 2 passed.

And this dietary relativism only serves to prevent argument. One is healthier than the other, one is more ethical than the other.

i just didn't want to argue.

Holy shit EyeballGrowth I can't believe you exposed us to that shit without some kind of warning. Some of us are in no condition to deal with such horror.

You don't have to argue, just act. It is our principles which make us who we are, while they shouldn't rule us, we shouldn't abandon them. Righteous indignation is valuable.
