The radio phone-ins are hilarious. People are already calling for Green's head and for Capello to be deported!

good result for Algeria!

well, that is, if they manage to beat Slovenia... they have been so irregular, that it's difficult to assess what their chances are. in any case, if they do not manage to obtain a good result today, it will be very difficult for them to qualify.

germany is looking nice, probably because it's playing against a mediocre team, but still, they are looking good! i'm particularly impressed by ozil-- he's only 21? holy shit. podolski's goal was great but klose's was fucking brilliant. then again they arent facing great opposition.

i was predicting a massacre for this match, we might still get a 4-0...

i didn't watch the early games today but this is the best team i've seen so far. i think they would beat france, england, and the argentina we saw yesterday...

SonicBebs 06.13.2010 02:28 PM

be interesting to see germany against a decent opposition defense but you can only play the team in front of you, and they're looking really good so far

!@#$%! 06.13.2010 02:57 PM

4-0 already... will they make 6? or 7...?

!@#$%! 06.13.2010 03:31 PM

cacau was good, but marin was no substitute for podolski. still, germany was great on the attack---cahill didnt need to get kicked out though, and cacau got a gratuitous yellow card-- poor aussies. anyway, looking forward to see germany on the 2nd round-- i didn't see ghana though, they might be a worthy opponent (?)-- i don't think serbia stands a chance.

EVOLghost 06.13.2010 03:32 PM

It's all about S Korea man.

Cacau is a twat. I fucking hate divers. Anyone who does it is a pussy. Play like men dammit!

he didnt dive, he jumped over the hatchet leg that was coming his way, he wasn't faking a foul, look at the replay, there was no intended deception-- he even went up & said it to the referee at the end (i cant imagine them talking about anything else)

besides, he scored the last german goal-- "play to win" beats taking a gratuitous kick to the shins.

Bertrand 06.13.2010 03:55 PM

The early games were disappointing.
Slovenia were poor, Algeria just slightly better, but they lost. Both won't go much farther.

From a fantasy manager point of view, I have a claim here. The assist was provided by Jokic. Who happens to be on my pitch. But they gave his assist to Kirm.
Apart from that, I'm fine, Dempsey was on the bench yesterday.

Serbia were cheap, poor, numb, a disgrace.
I expected Ghana to be a little bit shaky but they were focused and deserved the victory. Cold blood.

The German game... Some team... Looked like France-Scotland in 2002 (5-0), goals pouring from everywhere.
The next Australian game is already marred by that 4 goal margin.

thanks for the update. here the games started 530 am! imagine waking up for that....

tomorrow's holland-denmark however... hm, maybe i'll just record it.

demonrail666 06.13.2010 04:32 PM

Finally getting to see Brazil, Holland and Spain is gonna be really interesting. Germany have clearly set the standard so far for me, as Bertrand says, goals from all areas sends an ominous signal to their potential cup rivals.

I missed the Serbia - Ghana game. I always hear good things about Serbia but it sounds like once again they've fallen well short.
