That's fucked up. What is the population in Tiny Town? I understand the whole of Oregon is 4.2 million or so, with 114 cases confirmed as of yesterday. My godforsaken heckhole is 17.6 million or summat with 537 cases, 8 of which already sent home. The person who died was reportedly "an 82-year-old woman with multiple patologies"... |

And what we meant is you're such a nutjob we're surprised you weren't already wasted 24/7. Can't believe I had to explain that. Come to think of it, no, I can... |

My wife’s paternal Grandmother passed away Thursday, she was 96.
With Coronavirus limiting private/public events to 10 people in the State of Texas, the family has opted for a graveside all-in-one service this Tuesday at 2pm in Stonewall, Texas, about two hours North of Austin. It’s a five hour drive from Nederland to Stonewall. No one in the family has much interest in staying in a hotel during this pandemic, so we’re going to drive five hours, stand outside at the old Texas cemetery (many graves from the 1700’s), for a quickie service, then drive five hours back. If someone in town is selling bbq, burgers or mexican, we might pick it up and go eat at Ladybird Johnson park to have a bit more time to visit with family coming in from around the State. A 10 hour road trip with no restaurants open to the public, restroom breaks will be interesting. Sure, palatial size Bucees will probably be open for gas and such, just not sure what to expect in between the little country towns??? Outside chance no one goes and she is buried with no family present. My wife wants to make her Grandmothers casket spray, so who knows??? If the family doesn’t go now, we will pick a weekend down the line once this foolishness is behind us and we will spend a long weekend visiting, grilling and having one heck of a memorial service. |

http://sonicyouth.com/gossip/showpos...94&postcount=4 runaway infections, high median age, healthcare facilities slammed, etc it all comes down to infection rate and availability of critical care see: the hammer and the dance in a more elemental way it’s the root issue of economics, supply vs. demand of respirators, really and of oxygen in the body they didn’t get a chance to reduce demand where it wouldn’t overwhelm supply at the onset, but we can |

I don't mean to sound defeatist (is that the right word?), but I'm afraid many countries could end up with numbers similar to italy (I obviously hope it won't be the case, but what i read about other countries "reactions" and statistics like the data h8kurdt posted in the previous post aren't exaclty encouraging). for the US, CDC data says this, updated to March 20 (Am I the only one who finds the fact that tey won't update data on weekends simply laughable?) ![]() I'll check back on monday and see what their report says ( see here https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...ses-in-us.html ), but from other sources those figures have already almost doubled in less than a couple days. There's the risk of a steep rising curve in every country from the start of proper testing/reporting, basically. And in the weeks before proper testing a lot of people who died from flu-like symptoms could well have been infected with covid with nobody specifically checking for it before/after death. Again, little disclaimer, I'm not a virologist nor a physician, I'm just trying to keep up with some infos I gather. Don't take my posts in this thread as pessimistic/negative/sad , that's not my intention at all, I'm just sharing some data I find interesting. And don't ask me to define interesting... |

Military tanks have been transported on trains through San Diego since, like, forever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRMVwWbjNM0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXJXjPAub3Y come on... Now, if those tanks stopped in San Diego and "invaded" the streets of the city, well, that would be quite different. |

i suggest everyone else does the same at this point because to dignify them with an answer is to give that madness wings. and also, it distracts from useful conversations about reality. if you can handle it—thanks for your public service. some poor innocent might believe the nonsense and become stupid through contagion. but i think it’s probably best to just tag them red and cancel them |
