Blondie sound alright, but if you lived in Britain for as long as I have or you were born here, you'd want to throw yourself down a train after another karaoke rendition or pub play of one of their songs. Enough is enough, not even U2 get that much airplay in one's daily routine.

Your songs are way better than that.

True, but not as bad as living in Greece if you have even the SLIGHTEST aversion to Iron Maiden.

Rob Instigator 06.07.2007 02:56 PM

greece is into Maiden?

You know my teenage to 20's roots already: Iron Maiden and house music. Sonic Youth were just for the three cats like me who demanded more. Iron Maiden (used to) kick ass, though.

They wrote some good songs, that's undeniable. They generally get stick because of the obvious irritating aura that Bono gives them.

demonrail666 06.07.2007 03:05 PM

Maiden are massive West Ham fans and I really wanted them to do the FA Cup song for a couple of seasons back. Pure proud they would've been.

Johnny Marr? Seriously? Wow. Makes me like him even more. Even though he's a bit of a cunt.

sarramkrop 06.07.2007 03:08 PM

Haha! I'd love to see Morrisey trying to sing Iron Maiden songs.

U2 are a definite case of a band that get dumped on far too much these days. Talk about a decent band being shat on because of the unfortunate personality traits of a single band member.

demonrail666 06.07.2007 03:17 PM

"Ruuun tooo theee chip shop. Run foooor yourrr liiiiife"

demonrail666 06.07.2007 03:18 PM

Yeah, what she said. Total Hi-Tecs and bullet belts.

sarramkrop 06.07.2007 03:20 PM

Codas age too! The Smiths's coda on The Queen Is Dead sounds like it was recorded by someone who works at one's local garage. It's great but the sound is a bit weak.

demonrail666 06.07.2007 03:21 PM

God bless the aging codas, that's what I say.

we need a backing singer thread

Sweet And Tender Hooligan = Iron Maiden. Technically, the chords are the same as a lot of Maiden songs. Very interesting, Diesel.

demonrail666 06.07.2007 03:24 PM

Better still, can you imagine if Kim Gordon played bass for Maiden?

Rob Instigator 06.07.2007 03:25 PM

sweet & tender Hooligan is my fave

demonrail666 06.07.2007 03:27 PM

I like the way Morrissey totally rips off Marr riffs on his solo stuff. Like the way he just photocopies the riff off of Paint a Vulgar Picture and slaps it on, I think it's Boxers.

Skint, I'm afraid. I have a version of it but I've never used it, so I don't even know if it's 4 or whatnot.

sarramkrop 06.07.2007 03:36 PM

Why did Nina Hagen not duet with Diamanda Galas, at one point in her career?

sarramkrop 06.07.2007 03:41 PM

The coda on Barbarism Begins At Home is inspired by George Clinton, and you can hear it.

I have it also as a cd single

demonrail666 06.07.2007 03:52 PM

I always thoought it was one of Mozza'a solo efforts.

sarramkrop 06.07.2007 03:53 PM

Mozza's heaviest is Your Arsenal, produced by the now defunct Mick Ronson, and Glam-tinged.

Oh c'mon, we were just about to approach a notorious racist!

demonrail666 06.07.2007 03:58 PM

I love it when people describe music as glam-tinged. They never say punk, or funk-tinged. It's like people will describe something as jazzy or folky, but never jazz or folk-tinged. And of course, when it comes to jazz-funk, then it has a jazz-funk element.

sarramkrop 06.07.2007 04:01 PM

Well, glam-tinged is not the same as glam proper, is it? Morrisey can only make glam-tinged records, but never a proper glam rock record. It's not in his nature.

By taking the 'well' off of the beginning of you sentence, I've made it look like you're asking me a question.

sarramkrop 06.07.2007 04:06 PM

Answer, then.

That means cunt-all you cunting racist cunt.

demonrail666 06.07.2007 04:08 PM

OK. Glam-tinged is not the same as glam proper. But they're quite similar.

Don't take it out on me, now. I work and never claimed benefits in my entire life. Not fair.

Did you know that G.L.I.C.E. are the initials for Belgrade's most notorious white supremacist group?

he played footage of the dolls live, and of johansen talking before his concert here in Houston last month.

demonrail666 06.07.2007 04:29 PM

Are the NY Dolls Glam proper, or glam-tinged?

Rob Instigator 06.07.2007 04:31 PM

I would say they were PROTO-GLAM!!!

fuck david bowie! rip off!
