Fortunately the series is on Netflix over here as well. That team was something else. But I wouldn't watch Space Jam for it, but rather check for some games on YT. With the corona lockdown are the sport channels rerunning NBA matches? That's what I would be watching, but all we get is football and more football reruns (but I haven't checked the programming of the paid channels) |

I've enjoyed it thus far. It's also telling me that there was a lot more off-court drama going on that my 14 year old mind was missing seeing. I got into watching the NBA early on in the 2nd three-peat so it's still very timely to me to see :D |
I watched The Hangover, first watch. Really enjoyed it.

And yes, I did get Cube vibes. I enjoyed that film, but I think I'll pass on this one. |

Best Joon-ho film to date, in my opinion. The edit and pace is phenomenal. Hope you are safe in New Mexico, !@#$%! |
![]() Big love for Alejandro Jodorowsky! |
![]() Perfect movie for the Saturday afternoon couch potato |

I LOVED that film when I was a kid. Reckon I could recite both that and Mrs Doubtfire by heart. "This is the part where you fall over. WHERE DO YOU GET THESE GUYS?!" |

xxx ANYWAY ended up rewatching SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK because david o. russell always makes me laugh so hard and his casts are *great* ![]() very funny shit, some great scenes |
Tonight I watched The Runaways movie, with Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart. It was fine. Fairly run of the mill rock bio movie.
|
Seeing you talk of Parasite reminded me I had been wanting to check out Snowpiercer. Only got about halfway through last night. I might eventually finished it, but can't say I was very into it at all. Loved Parasite though.

THE DAY TRIPPERS (greg mottola, 1996)
![]() great little movie i hadn’t ever heard of but found it on criterion today and blam! i wasn’t fully aware of greg mottola either, although he was the director of superbad and had a hand in arrested development and other good tv shows. this was good and funny and a great cast, well beyond the confines of this poster which only features the back seat and is missing the driver, the copilot (lol), and a bunch of other people. just finished a very enjoyable afternoon with it. - i am however superdisappointed that criterion took peter greenaway’s “the draughtsman’s contract” offline before i had the chance to see it :( |
I watched The Death of Stalin tonight, pretty much cause Steve Buscemi is in it. Two movie night, just watched The Hangover Part II.
|
I watched half of Ocean's 8 yesterday but didn't really like it. Did anyone watch this already? Does it get any better in the second half (I still have 54 minutes to go)?
|
![]() It's pretty good, I finished it in one go, so that means a lot. Star studded cast in minor roles, damn Nick Nolte I didn't even recognize, he has gained a few pounds. I'm usually not such a fan of Shia LaBeouf nor Robert Redford, but both did a fine job here. ![]() One of those songs won an Oscar and I want to file a protest for that. ;-) what did it win it for, longevity? The movie is OK, but story-wise it's quite poor. Lots of dancing but it didn't really impress me The title could not be used anymore in these times. |
![]() Pink Panther Strikes Again! Pure brilliance, even after 40+ years, it's still hilarious from start to finish. And those title credits!! |
Uncut Gems — a loud and soulless, nihilistic, mean little film.
The Rise of Skywalker — a totally meh movie with some nice action but it’s like Abrams allowed his franchise to be castrated after fanboys hated Last Jedi, which is probably the only truly good Star Wars film. Oh well. |
![]() (the world of Kanako) that was a bit more fucked up than I was expecting.... |

Are you watching The Mandalorian? |
![]() Nothing spectacular. I was inquisitive to hear Jóhann Jóhannsson's soundtrack. |

I watched these: ![]() Pink Panther Strikes Again was funny, this one however is pretty lame from start to finish |
And also
![]() Cool movie, especially Perkins. Special effects are a bit dated :D but still great as well as the soundtrack. ![]() No idea what language this is, but it's a great design for a movie poster! The Birds. Great movie, amazing soundtrack because there isn't any! :) they used some type of pre-version of a synthesizer to sample the bird sounds. Tippi Hedren is fabulous, especially knowing that she had never acted before. Also the specials on the bluray for this movie are great like the Making Of |

Ha! I haven't liked Cage since Adaptation. I'll watch Cosmatos' first film Beyond the Black Rainbow next. |
A couple of Mexican movies :
Mas negro que la noche Funny as there's way more female characters than male ones (who are not too important). I liked it. Especially the lack of characterization of the girls. In an average movie, you'll get the bitch, the brainy... the Spice Girls. There, no. And you believe in the bond between them. The best was the servant. As she doesn't evolve that much, but the way we perceive her does. El espinazo del diablo I expected a good movie but not as satisfying as other Guillermo Del Toro movies (since it was close to an early one). How wrong I was... It was better than I expected... |
A Goofy Movie, because fuck it.
|
![]() I think the last time I've seen it must've been in the mid-2000s. Probably should've watched it in preparation for The Return 3 years ago. Powerhouse performance by Sheryl Lee. Too bad it was poorly received in its own time. But I feel like it has gained new appreciation, especially since The Return had aired. |

I sometimes wonder if critics at the time watched the 1st 20 minutes and then walked out before the film really kicks into gear. Lynch's most underrated film imo. |
I would say Fire walk with me is the best piece of Twin Peaks media; the original series is so dated and slow paced. The Return was just a complete mind-fuck. It had that one episode about the invention of the atomic bomb which was at the very least aesthitically pleasing. Juxtaposed with the slow burning plot where we witness detective Cooper is in a comatose state doing literally nothing, drab episode after drab episode.
Lynch has pace issues in some of his movies which is only amplified in longform format. FWWM got the pace and weirdness just right. |
![]() Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom It has its moments, but overall it's pretty lame. |
A Mighty Wind
R.I.P Fred Willard |
caught “senna” the other day
![]() was pretty great. |
