I never had, nor ever will probably, hear anything like it. 6 minutes of like 5 synths on top of each other, but it was cool, because they picked some really nutso synth tones and the whole thing was gritty and nightmarish.

They cleaned up the "horror movie" aspects of their sound (replacing, removing, and re-recording nearly every song on the album when it eventually came out a good 5 years after it was recorded), became more Orgy-ish, and then were never seen or heard from again.

Upload please.

Yes, upload please atsonicpark.

Unpopular opinion? Stag is probably the best Melvins album.

atsonicpark 06.27.2009 05:58 PM

Upload? I don't have it, I haven't listened to it in like 5 years! Haha. Someone upload it for me! It should be easy to find, though. It had a pro-child molestor song on it called "itsy bitsy titsy girl". The only bad song was a cover of "fox on the run".

Stag...

Status Quo do excessive repetition better than Philip Glass.

MellySingsDoom 06.27.2009 06:35 PM

Given the choice of being forced to listen to The Clash or Billy Idol, I'd choose the latter.

sarramkrop 06.27.2009 06:41 PM

Gram Parsons used to be quoted as an influence by quite a few bands. He is overrated.

Dionne Warwick is better than Aretha Franklin.

Is it time for a round of 'which of these two then Melly?'

Bauhaus or Sisters of Mercy - Go!

As much as my head says Bauhaus, my heart will choose the lunkheaded "charms" of Von Eldritch and the boys. Plodding drum machine, overflanged guitars, laughable baritone bellowing - what's not to love?

Decayed Rhapsody 06.27.2009 07:30 PM

Dionne better than Aretha? What?! She's actually one of those really popular singers who I haven't heard much of beyond the most popular singles, so I can't really judge fairly. Listen to this shit though, Aretha was only 15 in the first one:
