Your hyperbole left me gasping for air. No one will give a fuck about Kanye or his music in 20 years, except for 2 or 3 tracks on Oldies stations.

"Critically revered" means that he paid a LOT of payola to the right people.

Okay that's just wrong. Kanye, whether you like him or not, has already become a hip hop legend. No debate. He will be remembered for as long as people remember hip hop.

Severian 11.27.2013 03:42 PM

Damn, I listened to Yeezus for the first time in a while last week, and it blew my socks off. At first it felt a little choppy, and it was hard to pin down the album's parameters and sonic boundaries. It felt too short and oddly arranged. But now it's had time to develop an identity of its own, and it's an epic fucking pop album.

That's it.... You and me.... 2033... If I win, you suck my foot!

Seriously, he's already outlasted artists that will be remember in 20 years! Fucking Red Hot Chili Peppers are in the rock and roll hall of fame, for fuck's sake. 20 years is nothing. Hell, OK Computer is getting close to that age.

It's not hyperbole, either... I'd heard that this was somehow confirmed, and that MBDTF actually was the most widely praised critical album since OKC. I thought it was some kind of Metacritic deal.

Rob Instigator 11.27.2013 04:42 PM

"widely praised critical album" means that Kanye is the one rapper that most white male record reviewers can get into. SaD

I don't understand what's meant to be so wrong with the video compared to other videos similar to his. He seems to have a sense of humour and he looks like he doesn't give a shit. The song is magnificent, one of the best pop songs I've heard in a while. You can't even see the tits properly and I doubt you'll remember this video in a few months time. The song I'm sure will be remembered for a very long time because of its brilliance though.

Genteel Death 11.27.2013 05:52 PM

if you think it's the worst song ever you haven't heard my karaoke version of it, you piece of shit.

Genteel Death 11.27.2013 06:08 PM

How do you know that I own a copy of Yeezus? You stupid? I stream shit on Spotify and shit.

But when it comes to Gaga, I have absolutely no loyalty to uphold, and I am not even going to bother listening unless I get some solidly badass feedback.

So please expound on Gaga's new one if you will. Wax philosophical about it. Give me the kind of long, exhaustive, drawn out review that you know I need. If you need a reference, take a look at my comments about albums in this thread.

uhm.. at first listen, about four songs grabbed me. i kept revisiting them whenever i was in the mood for some catchy music. eventually i was thinking "hey, why not check out the whole thing?", then just realized that i like it. it's pretty much just another Gaga album, she's still obsessed with Madonna and drawn into sex fantasies (the latter maybe more than ever), there's not much depth into it, and despite the album's name it's not very artsy either. but if you like The Fame, you'll like this one! it also seems like she's been more influenced by black music this time around. the R. Kelly collab gotta be one of the highlights on the album, and there's also a track with T.I., Twista and.. Too Short. there are a handful of good hooks, and even though the whole album is basically your typical '13 EDM production (jesus, even David Guetta and will.i.am are credited here), there are some moments with really cool sounds, e.g. Fashion!

no. he does look like he gives a shit. he looks scared, mad and on the verge of a crying fit. he's all hype until the punches begin.

now now, don't get me wrong. MBDTF and Graduation are masterpieces. i hope he sticks around for a long long time because he's so much fun.

Really asskiss? Worst song ever?

It's a good old fashioned soul beat, with a feel-good Motowny sample, and a hook that sounds like it's mimics the feelings actual humanoids experience!!

Seriously, don't do that. Worst song ever? Worse than "Bed of Roses" by Bon Jovi? What about "Cherry Pie?" Eddie Murphy's "Party all the time?" Fucking "Glycerine?"

Don't be daft, punk. Especially if you're a Graduation fan, it should be the one song on Yeezus that's inside your comfort zone. ;)

noisereductions 11.29.2013 10:22 AM

it actually reminds me of pre-Graduation.

Dood, I like "Glycerine."

hahaha, must spread rep.

honestly, i've been listening to that song a lot in the gym lately.

so yeah.. the beat, the hook and some of the lyrics are technically wack, but the song brings the hype! can't help it. also, i need to watch the visuals. i'm in London at the moment, thus my access to the internet is restricted and i need to save bandwidth. will do in a couple of days though.

louder 11.29.2013 12:35 PM

i'm wondering if Drake will step it up at some point. i mean he's making some really good records these days, but i don't feel like they'll go down as CLASSICS. Jay dropped The Blueprint after a series of decent albums though, and to me, Drake is kinda like a young version of him.. but i also have to keep in mind that Jay's debut was fucking Reasonable Doubt.
