this is first design I'm working on.

Basically you can plug it into any pedal that has an expression input, and it will sequence through different expression settings, jumping from one to another.

nicfit 02.22.2010 07:19 AM

That thing is INSANE!!!

Trasher02 02.22.2010 08:50 AM

Holy shit, looks nice Julian! You should definitely keep us updated.
Just ordered woohoo!

^^^
I wanted one of those for a lot of years, then suddenly I lost all my interest in it and settled for totally different stuff.
Weird.
It sure is a nice thingy, anyway. Price paid?

demonrail666 02.22.2010 09:23 AM

I really, really, really want one of these at the moment, but they're seriously silly money and i'm a seriously broke, seriously shit guitar player.

edit: Can't wait for it to arrive, I'm so stoked!

CHOUT 03.21.2010 01:41 PM

Got a Deluxe Memory Boy the other day.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 03.24.2010 05:38 PM

How do you like it mang?

CHOUT 03.24.2010 08:50 PM

It kicks ass. I really like it. It does a lot of stuff. You probably know more about it than me, mang.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 03.24.2010 08:56 PM

maybe, I do obsessively read the manuals of pedals I am interested in

CHOUT 03.24.2010 09:01 PM

The low cut and sequencer options are neat additions I didn't even know about til I bought it. You can get some real long filthy delays with this.

scott v 03.25.2010 01:11 PM

the infamous Line 6 DL4, i scored one for $150 US used, can't see paying the $250 that they seem to go for and more... plus they seem to have realibility issues based on half the reviews i've read and friends/musicians that have one and their experiences. i've had mine for about 6 months its starting to act a little weird i only use the looper function and the delay sound isn't always there wheni first plug it in, i have to fiddle with the knobs and trigger the switches to get it to start working normal. then everything is fine, i've read that sometimes doing a system reset to default settings corrects this (powering up while holding the A and D switches) but its only temporary. anyways i've done much research on trying to mod primarily to get a more balanced volume out of the delay, which is my major draw back on this device that i have just about crank the mix knob to hear loops... its a matter of replacing two resisters (R35 & R36) to 24k, i think. yet i'll probably not mod this pedal it just seems to delicate for what they cost and i've modded alot of stuff.

if you want a big beefy wall of fuzz distortion with plenty of sustain thats what a big muff can do, its not really good at being subtle, nice for screaming lead one note lines and pending on which type of muff pedal they can be good on chords.

FreshChops 03.28.2010 03:49 AM

ordered a Zvex Lo-Fi Loop Junky.

I think they're ridiculously overpriced but after waiting for one cheap to come along for a year or so, finally found one cheap. Probably not everyone's cup'o tea, but I'm an admitted loop addict.

here's some examples of them:

Check out the EHX "English Muff'n" too. Tube valves FTW.....

I remember looking into these, i think nels cline uses one... whats the loop length that can be done with these? i ended up w/ the line 6 dl4 which i strictly only use the loop function, has some less and more functionability compared to the loop junky.

dl4:
upto 14 seconds, or 28 seconds loop on half speed mode. reverse loop capability, 1/2 or double speed pending on what speed the original loop was recorded. overdubbing capability w/ simultaneous toggle between reverse and 1/2 or double speed of older loop. optional delay with the loop.

A friend gave me a Roland DJ-mixer for free few months ago. As I don't do dj'ing, I haven't had much use for it, but I think I can use it if I ever get around to do some home recording wankery. It does have built in effects, sounds like shit, but might work for some guitar / keyboard sounds.

I don't have it yet. Just ordered it mid last week.

It says it's 20 sec. The Loop Junky is definitely a one trick pony... but it seems to be a very unique pony. but, saying that, the variations of warp'ish effects is pretty broad, so maybe a cool one.

I've never tried the Line 6. I use a EHX 2880 multitrack looper, for looping. The 2880 is pretty expensive, but it's on another level where loopers are concerned.

nicfit 04.14.2010 05:15 PM

hey, recommendations for good shops in Atlanta and Washington?
Possibly with malekko stuff?
I'm hoping to get an ekko 616 (too overpriced here in europe...)
thanks in advance, pardon the personal use of a public thread...
