i appreciate voluptuous women, not fat women. and voluptuousness just does not work on me. i'm rail thin, yeah, but i still have my tits and THANK GOD they are a manageable size now. still large for my body size, but i look good.
anyway, you guys should not be ragging on anorexics or pro anorexia or whatever because youve never been there, so don't judge. just like if you've never BEEN or been close to a drug addict: you don't know what it's like, so SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTHS.

Fortunately one can be constitionally thin and still not be anorexic.

I almost agree with the second paragraph: some people here and in general can be really insensitive with anorexics while they have no clue what anorexia is really about. There's much more to it than fashion: very low self-esteem, fear of sexuality (I read that 1 in 2 female anorexics had been sexually abused as a child), affective troubles, identity crisis (for instance anorexia often affects people from foreign origin). Can you really blame someone for wanting to be appreciated and loved ? What I don't agree with is what you say about the "pro-ana" movement. I find it inexcusable to prompt other people to put their body in danger.

Torn Curtain 01.10.2008 05:47 AM

I'll add that if the "fashion" thing can exist I think it's more an American thing.

Torn Curtain 01.10.2008 05:54 AM

Anorexics are not selfish, on the contrary they care too much about other people.

ALIEN ANAL 01.10.2008 06:02 AM

just because you are a size 2 doesn't mean you aren't predisposed to have "cheese on your thighs"

and big fucking deal if you do. but she's certainly not overweight. AT ALL.

sorry, dont remember the context in here around this expression and am used to hearing orange in relation to cellulite. and of course cellulite has nothing to do with weight.

yep apparently cheese thighs are cellulite.

this aint photoshop, is oliviero toscani's compaign against anorexia (thee photographer of all benetton ads)
these pics were in italy and also in france, the model is french.
in a magazine I read a letter of an ex anorexic girl saying "it's a very hard and tough image, I dont know how useful can be. as I saw it, I thought I really missed those times, then that she is wonderful."

so be careful with provocations.

Yes, anorexics have dysmorphophobia (a distorted view of how their body really is - they think they're too big while they're too thin), it's not a "campaign" like this that will solve the problem, on the contrary it might end up glorifying anorexia (in the sense that anorexia distinguishes you from others and can even make you famous as it's the case for the French girl on the ad).

I've seen like four magazine covers talking about how she's overweight now.

I'm not going to bother finding pictures. My point is that she gained a bunch of weight, and is clearly a little overweight, and apparently it's ok. But if some celebrity loses weight, and is obviously a little underweight, they get ridiculed so much worse.

It's a struggle for anyone, EITHER way.
