I went to Loyola myself. I'd bet you'll like it; it's not very intimidating when you're starting out. What are you majoring in? Which dorm are you in? STAY OUT OF COFFEY HALL. If you have any classes in Skye, be sure to get there early - the elevators become completely jammed, and you end up having to walk up about 10 flights of stairs, and you get to class late anyhow, with the added bonus of being on the brink of a coronary. Depending on what you're majoring in, I might be able to help you with which classes/professors to avoid. This is KEY. Good luck, and god fuckin' bless you. |

This is a nice surprise. I'm actually registering for classes this week (I leave tomorrow morning). I already have some credits taken care of, because I took college courses in high school whenever they were offered. So I think I'm going to take advantage of that and double major, and hopefully get a Master's in English (what else I want to major in, I have no idea). I also have no idea what dorm I'm in yet. The form that I was sent had me prioritize the dorms according to first, second, and third choice...all I know is that I tried to choose whatever dorms had private bathrooms. Dare I ask, what is Coffey Hall? And by all means, warn me about as many classes and/or professors as you can. |
i can't believe i wrote that last post. i didn't realise how much of an a**hole i was being. i was just trying to be funny.

Name: Neil.
From: A depressing Northern town, close to York (England). Music: Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Neil Young, Talking Heads, Bjork, Public Enemy, The Kills. Films: Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Midnight Cowboy, Betty Blue, Sonatine, Dolls, Weekend, Cabaret. Authors: Ishiguro, Flaubert, Proust, Dostoevsky, The Brontés, Zola. I dislike: humourless people, people without opinions, pseudo-indie music and films (i.e., Donnie Darko), and spiders. I like: cold European cities, New York (or rather, my idea of the place), Seinfeld, writing / trying to perfectly articulate subtle feelings, and horses. |
Hi.
New here, have recently picked up again on SY. Was a fan many years ago (not giving my age) Daydream/Goo era but then seemed too lose sight of them. Just bought the new album, and loving it. Has anyone any suggestions on the best material to go for between Goo and Rather Ripped, I feel I've missed out on some good stuff somewhere along the line. Thanks in advance. |
Welcome to the last place you will ever want to be.
No...the last place you would ever want to be. Sorry. |

thanks, glad to be here, a friend of mine told me about this place, said it's the best forum for people who like to talk about, well, pretty much all the stuff I liked to talk about. I just moved to the Cincinnati area (I am originally from the Lexington area) and like I don't really know anybody cool around here yet, so it's nice to have a place where I can still carry on the same pointless conversations that I care so much about :)

its a good forum. theres a lot of spam and funny things and ive never seen the mods here...

Oh nice. You are friends with Rob [Inhuman], right? He's my very good friend, in fact, he jst left my house a few minutes ago. Where in Ottawa do you live? I live in Overbrook (The ghetto). It's basically 10 minutes from Downtown Rideau. |
Quote:
Nice. I live in the city. I like it though, since I'm near the mall and such. The bad part is, there's a killing in my neighboorhood every 8 months or so. What you get when you live in the gheto. |
Quote:
I'd love to live downtown, I spend as much time there as I can. |
Quote:
I hope you keep up with that. I've occasionally tossed the idea around myself. Any particular kind of animation you're fond of? |
I'm looking to get into hand drawn and/or clay/puppet animation. even though cgi is big at the moment, I doubt my creations would look good in that
|
If things go as planned, I plan to make the most fucked up animated movie ever made. Also the greatest, but those will be two different movies. I also plan to make noise music videos
|
forgot to add that I have also taken up bass guitar
|
hey welcome, have fun hrer
