I'm going to be seeing this in a few days.

That sure is a wicked moment.
Also, I like the way he tidies up his hair for the ladies.
Joker kicks all y'all's asses!
Superb execution.

Semperet 08.04.2008 07:01 AM

The bit with the failing explosives, the waving around of a big knife, the discussions of chaos? Anyone else thinking of Christian Slater as JD in Heathers?
Not saying I didn't love the film and the performances, but there's a definite influence there.

Norma J 08.04.2008 07:07 AM

It is a great film.

Ledger was fantastic.

Tokolosh 08.04.2008 07:12 AM

Reps to the first person who can tell me why the guy in the background is smiling.

nicfit 08.04.2008 07:15 AM

coz his movie is making millions?

Tokolosh 08.04.2008 07:16 AM

I know what you're getting at, but that's not Nolan...

Norma J 08.04.2008 07:18 AM

how come?

Tokolosh 08.04.2008 07:25 AM

I wouldn't know. The only thing I can think of is that it's a mistake.
Think about it, noone in their right mind would be happy to be attended by such an ugly nurse holding an assault weapon.

nicfit 08.04.2008 07:25 AM

buaaah, big nose little eyes, I thought I won :( !
silly me.

nicfit 08.04.2008 07:30 AM

p.s. I'm not 100% sure that one is actually a frame from the movie, it might be just a photo on the set, and the smiling guy would make perfect sense...

Tokolosh 08.04.2008 07:39 AM

Could be, but I'd have to watch it again to be sure.
It all happens so quick.

Norma J 08.04.2008 07:50 AM

yeh i thought it was a photo from the set.

Tokolosh 08.04.2008 07:58 AM

I think you guys could be right. Just noticed that Joker is looking directly into the camera lens, and not at his next victim.

nicfit 08.04.2008 07:58 AM

yes it is,
original pic taken with a EOS-1D Mark III ()

Tokolosh 08.04.2008 08:40 AM

Good news = the masks are available.
Bad news = shipped only to US, Australia, Canada, UK.

I can't rep you as promised, but I will as soon as I've licked someone else's arse first.
Could take a while, considering that most on here don't deserve my tongue treatment.

pbradley 08.04.2008 09:02 AM

I wish I could find a legit Rorschach mask.

Pookie 08.04.2008 05:41 PM

Tonight was the first night my wife and I have had free for quite a while (kids packed off to my mum's).

And what did we do? We went and saw this pile of doggy do-do.

Bad film. And its worse crime was that it was incredibly BORING.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.04.2008 09:02 PM

Maybe you don't like long movies?

DeadDiscoDildo 08.04.2008 09:54 PM

If by boring you mean 2 1/2 hours of non-stop intelligent action with a well thought out story, this movie was like watching grass grow...

in case you missed it...
Monday Movie Buzz: Bale's Batman voice too much?
Sunday August 3 1:44 PM ET

Though "The Dark Knight" has been a bona fide cultural event, boasting rave reviews and boffo box office, it hasn't been immune to criticism. Some have quibbled with its political undercurrents, and others have criticized a muddled theme.

But here's the critique most widely held: Why does Batman talk like the offspring of Clint Eastwood and a grizzly bear?

Donning the costume for the second time, Christian Bale has delved deeper into the lower registers. As Bruce Wayne, his voice is as smooth as his finely pressed suits. But once he puts the cape on, the transformation of his vocal chords is just as dramatic as his costume change.

Particularly when his rage boils over, Bale's Batman growls in an almost beastly fashion, reflecting how close he teeters between do-gooder and vengeance-crazed crusader.

pbradley 08.05.2008 12:27 AM

The only time the voice really bothered me was towards the end when Batman told Joker that the city is "full of people ready to believe in good." "Believe" and "good" really clashed with the voice.

DeadDiscoDildo 08.05.2008 12:36 AM

I know what you mean, especially after the fact that it's obvious the Joker feels no fear.

He can't be intimidated...

atsonicpark 08.05.2008 02:06 AM

,,,,What the fuck are some of you talking about?

I don't ever remember you being so reactionary.

atsonicpark 08.05.2008 03:04 AM

I think it was one of the least-boring films I've ever seen. In fact, I can't think of a single boring moment.

Tokolosh 08.05.2008 04:06 AM

One man's entertainment is another man's yawn.

Derek 08.05.2008 04:28 AM

For me, it was a mixture of "hey cool" and "yawwwwn"

nicfit 09.19.2008 12:00 PM

so, I want mickey rourke to be the new joker.
