^^^looks like he is using better conditioner in his hair as a Saints coach......or it could be from all the crawfish he is eating :)

Yes, Sean Payton clearly made him get stylist. The Ryan brothers have always been too grizzly for the NFL spotlight, but maybe Who Dat players and fans will clown him so mercilessly that he will get some style? Class. Probably not. Rex is the only quasi-classy Ryan (bias, he was Ravens' cooridnator for years) but he has been with the Jets, and they are so classless as to leach it from even classy guys to their detriment (they ruined Tim Tebow?? Even Jacksonville doesn't want him, and it'd be free, his salary next year is paid!)

Big Props to Reggie Wayne for being the NINTH player in NFL History with 1000 catches:

WOW - I've been seeing several "Cowboy" fans posting this on FB this week:

Earl Campbell remembers Bum Phillips http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans...like-no-other/

"Bud" Adams passes too. Also 90 years old. http://fansided.com/2013/10/21/repor...s-passed-away/

A memorial service to celebrate the life and times of Bum Phillips is Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church, 3700 Southwest Freeway.
The service begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature former Oilers and coaches from the Luv Ya Blue era telling stories about Phillips, who died Friday night at his ranch in Goliad. Phillips is being buried in a private ceremony on his ranch. Rather than flowers, the family asks for donations to Bum Phillips Charities to help build a home for deaf children on the Phillips’ ranch. The public is invited |

Reports are he lived alone in his River Oaks home. Will you have the opportunity to attend "Bum's" service? I wonder if Fox Sport Southwest will televise it......not many funerals are held in facility's with state of the art television production. |
I will try to get in. If not, I will be wearing my Luv Ya Blue Warren Moon jersey and be standing out on the street with everyone else.
I was at Toyota center when Dream announced his retirement and they retired his number. we gave that man a 2-3 minute ovation. I hope people go crazy for Bum. He truly was and is one of my personal heroes and I don't have many of those. |
^^^If you make it (even if just standing outside) and have the opportunity, please post some pics.
Texans Brian Cushings reply tweet to Jamal Charles: "appreciate you bro. I know you were just doing your job. Nothing but respect for your game." Cush rehab (broken leg & torn LCL) expected to take 3-4 months. Been Tate has four broken ribs, but should be ready for Indy on November 3rd. Case Keenum had the most yards (271) and highest QB rating (110.6) among 8 QB's making Texans debut. Keenum's first TD pass was the first TD for the Texans since the 1st Q in the Seattle game. |
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Bytor Peltor again.
I was also going to post that tweet. |
San Antonio sportscaster ripping National Media reporting on BUM
|
The only national mention of Bum was Chris Berman on ESPN sunday morning show (which I missed) and last night on MNF. Berman gets ridiculed a lot for his old style and his corny ways but the man knows the history of sports and understands what certain people mean to certain cities.
No one else mentioned Bum, and they mentioned Bud in passing. If Chuck Knoll died it wold be national mourning. Bum's Oilers lost to Pittsburgh in 78 and 79, who went on to win superbowl, and in 80 lost to raiders who went on to win super bowl. |
In the world of sports betting, the Kansas City Chiefs became the first NFL team to surpass their season total for wins before the end of October.
Word in H-town is the Texans signed a running back from the Cleveland Brown practice roster. Speculations are Arian Foster won't be able to go this week. Been Tate has four broken ribs, but should be ready to go. However, when dealing with ribs, a cough, sneeze or a fart hung sideways could keep him from playing. All of this being factored in, Vegas has this Sunday nights game with Indianapolis as Colt's -1.5 With a minute left in the game, the Cowboys had a stranglehold on the NFC East. Now - the NY Giants are only two games back = crazy! Monte Kiffin's Defense SUCKS! Of course, remove Tony Romo and Dez Bryant from the roster and all you have left is a glorified Jacksonville Jaguar roster. ![]() Cowboys lucky to be in the craptacular NFC East where 4-4 means 1st place. ![]() Only the AFC South has a worse record this season.
|
See Megatron's spectacular #s......14 catches for 329 yards = Shut Up Dez Bryant!

For the first time in a LONG time, the World Series beat out the NFL in head-to-head ratings:
World Series: 10.5 Green Bay at Minnesota: 9.9 |

![]() This may just be the greatest thing to happen to the Raiders since they won the AFC Conference game in 2002/03, especially since its against the Raiders arch-villain rival the Shitsburg Steelers. I told motherfuckers two years ago, FUCK CARSON PALMER, and I also ALWAYS felt that Pryor got straight SHITTED on, and now I feel vindicated beyond belief, about as much as when the Ravens redeemed their 2012 loss to the Patriots to go the Superbowl the next season, I mean, I just KNEW Ravens were a Superbowl team, I was just off by a season, and I also just KNEW that Pryor could be the guy, and he is definitely stepping up in that direction ;) |
Kubiak dropped. The Colts took advantage. Texans season is officially OVER. at least we have a QB now.

So Miami isn't a big sports city. Then why is Lord David Prince of Beckham starting a football team there?
Maybe Queen Victoria just likes the idea of having a palace near Beyonce, Lebron and Will Smith ![]() |
Quote:
to me it seems evident 1) his wife probably looks amazing in a bikini. reason enough to move to miami. 2) miami is the economic hub of latin america. all of us spickaroonies have connections to it. not just the fucking baseball-playing fascist cubans. so there is a huge audience. like in california, but with more flair and talent (i.e., more south america, less mexico). 3) there are LOTS of queens. in drag. |
Miami has better cocaine for all the players.
|
Quote:
1 and 3 make sense but the point of the article was that, whichever way you cut it, even with all its ties to latin America, Miami just doesn't have a big sports following. If Beckham was actually gonna play it might attract the trendies and the fashionistas but if he's just behind the scenes, he'll probably sell out gala dinners, etc, easier than he will actual games. Maybe he should sign Victoria. That'd keep the celebs happy, even if she's only in the position of goal post. |
Quote:
i didn't read the article, but my guess is that it's the wrong sports that don't get the following. 53% of miami residents are foreign born you go to one of those houses on a weekend, they are plugged to some foreign cable link watching the real deal. btw, the MLS is still the wrong sport. playoffs? drafts? designated players? weird seasons? east/west "conferences"? no promotion or relegation? negro please…! |
Quote:
Maybe Suarez should be Beckham's first signing. Now that really would be interesting. But yeah, the gist of the article is that Miami's really flippant when it comes to any sport. Heat games have only come close to selling out since they attracted big names and started winning stuff. The Dolphins do ok but nothing to write home about. Jai Alai seems to be popular though. |
Miami isn't a sports city?
Their NFL team has won back-to-back Superbowls (albeit in the 1970s) and has had several appearances since then (albeit losses). In the mid-1990s the Marlins not only won the World Series, but were practically America's team in popularity and won again in 2003 against the dreaded Yankees. And even though the Miami Heat weren't the best team in the 1990s, they were one of the more popular and respected "expansion teams" and after the surprise 2006 Championship, have become the best team in the NBA for the past 3 years. While Miami isn't the kind of blue-collar sports town that is embodied by cities like Shitsburg or Boston, it is hardly "not a sports town." |
