It's slapstick mainly. But anti-Nazi to the core at a time when the US was still not in WWII. |
Last film I watched was Brighton Rock
Richard Attenborough was a disturbingly creepy bastard, ergo he played his role to perfection Not a great film by any means, but decent Oh and I watched Alphaville before that I... did not like it. Give me Godard filming young hipsters in swinging 60's paris anytime |

That explains why I laugh the entire time every time I've watched it. It is one of the most unnatural movies ever. |

Canal (or Kanal, if you prefer, made in 1956), the second of Andrzej Wajda's trilogy of war adaptations. It's about the Warsaw Uprising. Superb.

simon of the desert-bunel
fucking excellent movie, even if its only 45 minutes long |

holy shit! fucking HILARIOUS!! i love that movie. |

I found a really poorly dubbed English Language version on DVD- probably as good as it's going to get. I really liked it but it was hard to keep up with sometimes, it had so much going on. The art direction was stunning though, and I love Dominique Pinon. |

i need to see l'age dejour and another one of his movies that o o o keeps recomending me, then i'll take a bunuel break |
The Legend of Hell House (fucking awesome, fucking funny)
Idiocracy (slow, full of idiots haha) Some movie about a human sacrifice cult in Mexico, which I'll never remember the name of. Border something or other. It was fucking dumb. There were more movies that I've watched the past couple days, but once again, I don't fucking remember. |

I really liked this movie :) |
It had been a few years. I forgot how much of a downer this movie is. Still great. |

It occasionally comes on cable... if you like Johnny Depp its worth buying.
Its easily one of his best performances. |
I've only seen bits of Ed Wood, I need to watch the whole thing sometime.

It's great. I didn't think it was that hard to find....I mean, the local Target here has it. |
Ed Wood rules, one of 2 good Tim Burton films I guess.

i thought it's great style but the story is kinda meh. kinda like amelie. have you seen the city of lost children? cos that one's better & cooler looking & all that. |
Quote:
COLC is great. I liked Amelie, so maybe I will like Deli.? |
Quote:
probably. i mean visually it was lots of fun, definitely worth the watch, it's not boring or anything. but i had been presented this movie as some kind of mind blowing thing so it underwhelmed. (same with amelie-- but with that i actually fell asleep ha ha). |
Speaking of Audrey Tatou (kinda) anybody see Priceless? (or whatever it is called in French...)
|
Quote:
no. i like her in that british movie about immigrants where she plays a turk. what was teh name of it? good movie... dirty pretty things. yeah... |
Never saw that one. I think she is drop dead gorgeous though. Priceless was good, nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed it. Except the idiot at the counter that didn't believe me when I told him he failed to give my two dollars back. :)
|
oh... dirty pretty things was fucking hardcore & cool. check it out.
