Dead & Buried is one of the better Shadow Of Innsmouth translations.

Volver (9/10)

This is increasingly becoming my favourite Almodovar film, maybe because it's his purest - like a summation of pretty much everything he'd done up to that point. Eventually he just had to make his ode to all things female, and Volver is surely it. A beautiful film, both in terms of how it looks and what it seems to be saying.

That's a film i definitely need to see again. I remember finding bits of it genuinely creepy when I first saw it. It has a strange atmosphere to it. My main memory is that it involved lots of fog.

and a syringe in an eyeball.

Dead & Buried is awesome, though I think I prefer Dagon when it comes to the story. But whatever. Stuart Gordon, Brian Yuzna, Dan Obannon -- all these guys handle Lovecraft so well. Call it in the air.

How was Screamers? I was reading about that in one of my magazines. Looked cool enough.

noisereductions 02.17.2011 02:58 PM

I've seen Screamers. I liked it. Um.

Public Enemies (4/10)

I'm a big Michael Mann fan but this didn't work for me at all. The main problem being Johnny Depp who may be a decent actor but is never gonna convince anyone as John Dillinger. Christian Bale is about the best thing in the entire movie, besides the inevitable handful of great shoot out sequences.

Inception

Not only did it have my two favourite actors (Cillian Murphy and Ellen Page) but it was sock-blow-offingly class. Hats off to a fine film

..and Joseph gordon-levitt!

But I didn't like the movie that much cause it was too "well" done.. it almost looked animated sometimes, especally the buildings.. I don't enjoy that stuff really.

The movie would have been much cooler if it was recorded like 20 years ago..
but well, yeah great movie indeed with really good soundtrack by mr Zimmer :)
