Well you gotta comment :) It seems like with 2 good actors, the movie would have some credability. Then again, Luke Wilson was in Blue Streak.

Rear Window is a classic Hitcock flick, every should see it. Also inspired a good Simpsons episode.

If you're into brain candy hollywood suspense/thrillers, then rent it. Its actually just another twist to the basic plot of: man and woman break down in the middle of nowhere. The relationship between wilson/beckinsale was okay, I mean they could have dwelled on the deeper issues plaguing them both and brought those to the fore, but the producers opted for the ''keep it simple, short, and scary'' formula.

nicfit 01.25.2008 08:39 AM

not much into that kind of movies, actually...that's why I find it hard to understand if one is particularly good just watching trailers and stuff...last one I saw in the "genre" was "Them", which was really great, but not hollywoodian at all... the list till now consists in :
vacancy
captivity (could be quite bad, but I'm quite curious to see how the director worked with such material)
severance (this could be good).

I saw this at the museum theater last night:

I saw Inland Empire tonight. I loved it though I wasn't sure I would until it was mostly over. My wife is a huge Lynch fan, but she didn't have the patience to make it through all 3 hours. I'd watch it again, though not for a while.

Rambo. Better than expected.

pokkeherrie 01.28.2008 11:43 AM

Any Spanish boardies here with an opinion about [REC]?

Saw it last week and the final 10-15 minutes really creeped me out.

Also watched Seven Easy Pieces by Marina Abramovic

and Persepolis

Saw this on Netflix and thought about watching it.

Savage Clone 01.28.2008 11:48 AM

I picked this up used this past weekend; highly enjoyable.
Best opening song I have heard in some time too!
How can you go wrong with Boris Karloff and Phyllis Diller in stop-motion puppet form?

Theme song here!

afterthefact 01.28.2008 11:49 AM

The Four Feathers. I had no intention of watching it, but my wife netflix'd a bunch of Ledger movies (I wonder why?) and that was the first to come. It was actually pretty good.

Rob Instigator 01.28.2008 11:52 AM

saw this last night. it hadbeen a long while since I had seen it uncut

"where you going? what about our relationship?"
"Our what?"
What about our relationship?"
"Fuck that!"

uhler 01.28.2008 12:04 PM

davenotdead 01.28.2008 01:20 PM

yes. yes. yes. brilliant film-making. DDL is the best in the game.

good.

!@#$%! 01.28.2008 01:30 PM

this:

it was ok. not as hot as it looks. mary-louise parker was very unsexy. but the film had its moments:

this is a "typical glossy indie film from the 90s". not bad, but at this point, a kind of commonplace.

LittlePuppetBoy 01.28.2008 01:34 PM

The Mission

nicfit 01.28.2008 02:19 PM

As the need for "entertaining-pretty stupid movies, yet there's something I could like" keeps on running strong in my veins, yesterday I saw Cursed. Which was kinda lame and kinda fun at the same time, which is ok with me.
Oh, and CSI : Grave Danger if that counts. Pretty disappointing, actually.
Tonight I'm gonna watch Red Eye (W.Craven again, but I think this could be a far better movie).

phoenix 01.28.2008 05:02 PM

sweeny todd. loved it! esp the costumes.
