Step Brothers.
It was really just ok... it had its ups but it also had too many downs...
This movie seemed like something I would love but lo and behold... I didn;t...

uhler 08.05.2008 07:26 PM

i still haven't seen the dark knight. 28 days later is playing in mccarren park tonight but i'm not going to sit on a slab of cement for that shit.

i just bought this and i'll probably watch it tonight.

Stepbrothers didn't make me laugh one time.

I hate comedies for the most part, new ones especially. My friends made me see this and I did laugh once or twice, but overall it was beyond dumb. I laughed when the blonde woman said to one of the brothers that she wanted to curl him up and stick him in her vagina or something of the like.

The last movie I watched was The Mighty Ducks. My friend (turning 20) wanted to watch it during her birthday. I thought Connie had a bigger part, but I guess not. It's all about Charlie and fuckface.

atsonicpark 08.05.2008 08:24 PM

That woman was the best part.

Well wait.. I liked that "sweet child of mine part"... I didn't think it was funny but it was entertaining.

I got tickets to a preview screening of this last night, it was pretty good. There's a hilarious scene where Hellboy and Abe get drunk.

A Shot In The Dark

The Great Escape. Steve McQueen, et al.

It's really interesting how in all those old Nazi POW camp movies they make it look like everybody's living in some Boy Scout camp. Man, according to the movie, they had it nice--I wouldn't want to escape.

Yeah, it seems like a resort. Just, you can't leave. Good movie though.

Papillon really has the grimey, prison colony/camp look. Steve McQueen spends a lot of time in "the cooler" too.

Haven't seen Papillion.

Yeah, the Germans are so nice. They only fire warning shots, and they even let these guys grow gardens!? What the fuck kind of soft-assed place were they running? McQueen was definitely cool, though.

behold the nutritional power of roaches

Tokolosh 08.06.2008 12:04 PM

Interesting to know what went on in Miami at the time.

gmku 08.06.2008 12:12 PM

In the beginning of The Great Escape, the camp commander tells the men to behave and wait out the war with him. And I would be like: Okay, so you'll feed me, put a roof over my head, let me shower whenever I want, hang out and play cards with a bunch of my mates, let me grow gardens and play ball and go to the library and whatever the fuck else, even make my own liquor... all the while a war rages outside. Okay, yeah, I'll stay here, thanks!

Papillon is good. Sort of depressing though. Not the coolness of tunnel digging. Just torture and forced-labor.

gmku 08.06.2008 12:14 PM

Yeah, that sounds too real.

Haha, yes it is! I only watched about 10 minutes of it though.

acousticrock87 08.06.2008 05:41 PM

So did we. Some ass without a childhood said he'd never seen it and wanted to watch something else.

Sonic Youth 37 08.06.2008 05:42 PM

You should have ninja-kicked his ass and thrown pepper bombs made of coffee filters in his face.

Sonic Youth 37 08.06.2008 06:36 PM

Never disappoints.

samurai cop - 8/10

Probably one of the worst films I've ever seen; also amongst the most entertaining.

violent cop - 8/10

A very quiet and oftentimes surreal cop film. Very slow at times yet there always seems to be a lot going on. Never boring. I dunno why exactly, but I really loved it.

Kite - 5/10

Had seen this 5 years ago and thought it was absolutely fucking terrible. However, I re-watched it and I think it's just average. Um... basically, it's a really short anime movie about a girl killing people with exploding bullets to avenge her parent's death or something. Lots of graphic rape (I'm talking big dicks being thrown into the main character; though a lot of people call this "kiddy porn", she says in the movie she's going to college, so......) and lots of graphic violence. Not a total waste, as the whole thing's really entertaining. It's just kind of pointless.

atsonicpark 08.07.2008 05:52 AM

Just watched this, noiseman sound insect

Good shit.

Derek 08.07.2008 11:52 AM

Adam have you watched Lizard in a Woman's Skin? It's directed by Lucio Fulci.

I'm watching it tonight, dunno how it'll be like.

atsonicpark 08.07.2008 11:55 AM

Yeah, years ago. I really liked it at the time, and I'd probably like it now. It's one of the only films by him I've only seen once. Great atmosphere of course. If you like giallos at all you'll dig it.

I really like Fulci, except for Manhattan Baby and Demonia (which has some cool deaths but overall kinda sucks). I met a dude the other night with nothing but Fulci-related tattoos on both arms.

Gates of Hell/City of the Living Dead is probably my all time favorite horror flick besides MANIAC.

Derek 08.07.2008 12:06 PM

I'm gonna watch New York Ripper soon.

Also gonna watch City of the Living Dead. Fulci is great.

Mezzo Forte - 6/10

Pretty much exactly the same as Kite but a lot funnier and more ridiculous.

It's not really a true hentai, it's kinda like Cowboy Bebop, it's about bounty hunters, and it's not really too exploitative or overtly sexual but there are two RIDICULOUS sex scenes, which don't last too long.

Entertaining but meh.
