Saw Rango last night
kinda disappointed and bored when I realised it was just Chinatown with a Disney-esque theme of "finding/being yourself" 'message'

watched this on K last night, pretty amazing.

Watched HAUSU and FUNERAL PROCESSION OF ROSES with nice, shiney beautiful new prints. Always weird to see great films you've seen a thousand times, with new prints. BTW, those who dig HAUSU.. have you all seen LA MAO, aka THE CAT (crazy ass film by the director of RIKI-OH: STORY OF RICKY)? It's one of my favorite movies ever. It's about a killer cat from outerspace. There is..

- an electrified yogurt monster that consumes China
- a guy who gets shot a thousand times, or more.. in a weird homage to Terminator that has NOTHING TO DO with the rest of the movie
- an epic 10 minute (seriously) cat vs dog battle. Cats and dogs flying through the air.

and all sorts of weirdness. Words can't describe how f'n insane the movie is. See it!@

Anyway, I've mainly been watching ECW PPV's. ECW: RISE AND FALL dvd is all mnie, got it for $5. Disc 2 is amazing, literally the 8 best matches in ECW history. RVD vs Jerry LYNN? Fuck!

It has to be one of the funniest films I've ever seen. Plus the death scenes are ingenious, and so wild to watch! One of my favorite movies ever.

The SC rhat I've never been able to get into is part II, it just feels so lifeless to me when compared to the other 3.

you and I have argued this into the ground. haha.

Ah Yojimbo... <3

Watched Brother, it was good. Americanized Kitano isn't half bad. Seriously any film is gold, if you have silent but deadly Beat in a blazer and shades. Badass personified. The English dialogue was a little spotty and I'm talking about the American actors. But I think that what makes Jackie Chan's 90's action films so hilarious. Bad over dubs.

last film I watched was Raising Arizona (I would post a picture, but I think the forum will recognize it as spam since I am fresh fish flopping around the deck a.k.a 'a newbie'. ha.)

yeah, i enjoy it, the characters are hilarious, 2 dumb punks, a mexican gangbanger and rap kid from detroit who brings a gun to camp, i love it when the rich girl tells him about how rap is just darkies who can't sing lol
and the creepy male owner of the camp is hilarious, the other aspects of the film aren't as great though

number 2 is the only one i haven't seen, i got the dvds in the cheap bin at walmart years ago and didn't find #2

since hausu was mentioned i download that a few weeks ago and am going to check it out soon

felikson; did you get that dreamaniac film online? have a link?

Yeah, the kid from Detroit and all of the racial tension are part of my favorite aspects, or the flagpole death, lawnmower death, gun death, fishing scene, asian girl named Arab, nude girl with fake tits being beaten with a log, the game at the end.... I can go on, and on, and on about how much I love Sleepaway Camp 3.

It's funny that you haven't seen the second one yet, that's exactly the order that I watched them in (1, 3, 2). After the outrageous opening of part 3, my friend and I were thinking "WHAT THE FUCK DID WE MISS?" But like I said, the second film was disappointing, and the answer was surely, "not much".

You've seen Return to Sleepaway Camp then, right? It just came out like 4 years ago, and everyone hated it... but I thought it was a blast! There's this fat kid who keeps on shouting "YOUR ASS STINKS!" at everyone, and they have Isaac Hayes playing the camp chef (suspiciously dressed just like his former South Park character), and there's plenty of clever death scenes! I'd recommend that one over part 2 any day. I'm sure noiseredux would differ though, I think part 2 is his favorite.

Oh, and as far as Dreamaniac is concerned, I'd stay as far away from that awful turd as possible. The poster looked cool, the plot synopsis made it sound even cooler... but it has to be one of the worst slashers I've ever seen. Not even Sleepaway Camp 2 was as close to as lame as Dreamaniac. The deaths sucked, the casting was atrocious, the plot was weak, and the main character is a "heavy metal songwriter". Does that actually exist as a sole occupation? Honestly!

If you're looking for a fun low budget horror flick about hair metal, and demons... I'd recommend 1991's Shock 'Em Dead w/ Traci Lords. Now that movie is FUN!

The only torrents I could find of it were either in German (btjunkie), or completely lacking in seeds (t3)... bummer. I'll try to re-seed my file tonight, or tomorrow for you, if you're interested. Hopefully I'm crafty enough!

Dr. Eugene Felikson 03.27.2011 07:49 PM

Actually, you know what? There's a very healthy torrent on Cinemageddon of Shock 'Em Dead with 12 seeds! You might wanna try asking ASP for an invite, or if you're lucky enough you might be able to sign up without an invite still.

That's what I'd do, seeing how my connection speed is a joke anyway.

Oh, and Hausu is fucking incredible. 10/10

I would disagree with Joe. Sleepaway Camp 2 is brilliant. I do like 3 a lot. (Joe I think it's cuz I watched them 1, 2, 3 and you watched them 1, 3, 2 maybe. I just prefer 2.) Anyway, I think 1, 2 and 3 are all much MUCH better than Return. I mean it's fun and everything. But just not that good.
