it was "ok" for awhile, but after you've beaten the level 99 cycloxian beebleflanger, all the go-go boot power-ups and electro-scruntchies fail to excite.

Interesting. Just another reason to get a PS3. I've putting it off for a couple months now.

I recently finished Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2. Then I tried FFXIII and turned it off after 14 minutes.

I don't think I'll be playing another game until ME3.

explain....now. My cousin played it and also didn't like it. His main beef was with certain details dealing with the fact that you buy skills and other things like that. Supposedly it gets to become a big grind....

It's hard to explain what makes someone give up on a game after 15 minutes without getting into personal history and bias.

The worst part of the game is auto-battle. I literally played with my arm and the controller behind my head, just hitting one button. No more strategy. There's nothing else to it. Your health regenerates after every encounter; no more dragging around a half-dead party, fearing another Marlboro battle. In fact, forget parties; you only control one character.

What's happened is simple: Square is trying to extend the classic RPG to the non-RPG audience. Make it easy for ya.

I think I'm too old to enjoy games about teenagers who can save the world, but who can't make a single sophisticated insight about its nature or form a single mature relationship with their peers. Mass Effect fucking ruined me.

Playing Silent Hill 2 on my 360 as it displays in standard def with crappy f'ing black side letter boxes, makes me very sad

sounds shitty. I'm not a big fan of the 3D FF's anyway. I mean, I'm slightly interested just cuz IT IS Final Fantasy... but the only 3D I liked really was Crystal Chronicles. I'm all about "traditional" 2D Final Fantasy's... I even get annoyed with FFIV's RTS battle system to be honest. I like it old school turn based.
