Agree.

I kinda feel like it should be nominated for best drama in the emmys or whatever. For all its goofiness, few shows have captured the essence of human suffering as succinctly as that show about a talking horse who, back in the ‘90s, had a very famous teeeee-veee shoooooow.

i've loved "the trials of bob saget" since i first saw it lololol (i've always wondered how much of bob saget is in bojack)

he's at the same time pitiable and a creepy narcissist fucker-- full of good intentions, but never delivering

my favorite episode is the one under the sea

i'll catch up with the final season (or 2?) one of these days

Helsreach

Based in the Warhammer 40k universe. Imagine if a major studio had the balls to do an action/sf series this unapologetic.

An indication of just how good it is? Here's the good guy ...

Always cracks me up, those guys got laser blasters, but they’re using fucking swords..;)

Rob Instigator 02.05.2020 03:00 PM

Klingons had disruptor guns but preferred to slice n dice their enemies in close combat. you can't smell the slain enemy's blood if you shoot them from 20 feet away!

Severian 02.06.2020 08:59 AM

The Fargo TV show.

Actually pretty good.

h8kurdt 02.07.2020 12:17 PM

Just finished Bojack. Love it, love it, love it. That penultimate episode was pretty much perfect. Also carries on that damn thing where fro most programs the penultimate episode is the better episode than the last. Not to say the last episode was bad cos it wasn't. It was a great watch, especially Todd's scene, but it's not that episode.

Rob Instigator 02.07.2020 03:12 PM

On ep 6 of Baby Yoda, still good. Was pleasantly surprised to see Bill Burr and thought he did a great job!

Watched ep 3 of ST Picard, or, as I call it, "Cardigan Trek". It is cool and fun so far. it is weird to watch the show slow down everytime Patrick Stewart says a line, cuz he speaks in the pace and cadence of an octagenerian. It took him a full 20 minutes to get out the word "Engage."

hahahahhah

I have heard good things about bojack but my 46 year old mind gets very frustrated watching 30 minute cartoon shows lately. the pacing and set-ups are boring to me.

!@#$%! 02.14.2020 11:21 AM

nothing. just had time to catch some nature footage of monkeys ransoming items from tourists and releasing them in exchange for snacks. seriously.

yes, friends. we’re just another fucking species of fucking ape...

Severian 02.16.2020 11:31 AM

THE NEW POPE is fucking gooooood so far and I’m only on episode 2!

Antagon 02.16.2020 01:57 PM

Picked up Star Trek TNG again. This is a continuation of a watch I started almost two years ago (I remember seeing a lot of episodes without really grasping their implications back when I was a kiddo in the 90s). Kind of stopped midway through Season 2, but continued now and advanced to Season 3. It was a rocky road up until now, the bad episodes surely are spectacularly bad. Some of the misguided plotlines as well as the casual sexism and racism (what the fuck Code Of Honor? What the fuck indeed) every now and then (kind of jarring in a show that does seek to maintain a progressive tone) don't exactly help. But when TNG is good in that early run, it is really good. Looking forward to seasons with a more consistent quality curve.

ilduclo 02.16.2020 02:29 PM

The Split, BBC about a family of female divorce lawyers. Ms Ild seems to like it, I don't, really........

Finished up Narcos Mexico season 2. Tense stuff.

Rob Instigator 03.02.2020 03:30 PM

Watched two episodes of sasha Baron Cohen's show The SPY. very cool, very tense stuff.

Fargo, the movie
followed by Fargo the series

Great series so far, halfway down to the first
But dammit, I always thought it was really based on true events ...

Lol. Yeah, nope. Hah.

Good series. Can’t wait for season 4!

GravitySlips 03.08.2020 01:49 PM

The Simpsons, season 3. Fuck yeah.

Also watching Better Call Saul each week. Enjoying it as ever.

I've also been itching to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm again, as the girlfriend has never seen it. However, too busy at the moment - but it's getting watched over the summer!

Better Call Saul just keeps getting better.

Is this the final season? I guess it must be, yah?

Ya, I really need to get off my lazy ass and do one of those services to watch it.

And I am not 100% certain, but pretty certain I did read somewhere that this was the last.

Rob Instigator 03.10.2020 10:10 AM

Is anyone else fed the fuck up with the same bullshit storytelling trope being used for every goddamn TV show?

I refer to the tired, stupid, and fucking annoying "trick" of showing us something horrendous right off the bat, getting our hackles up, then going to black and saying "But let's see where it all began..." and then you realize that coool aggro shit they showed you is a tease and they will go back to boring dialogue and bullshit filler episodes until they manage to get back to the "cool" thing they showed, at the last episode of the season. I hate that shit. I HATE THAT SHIT.

It automatically tells me what I am watching is C-level dog shit.

Most likely the awesome cover art.

Rob Instigator 03.13.2020 09:06 AM

watching Cardigan Trek (ST: Picard).

so many pointless reveals. so much needless fake angst. Picard/Patric Stewart feels like an old fart being humored. endless, needless murder, shown to us just to fool the viewer into thinking the show is "hard".

I want this season to end and the next one, planned and rumoured to be about Guinan and Picard fucking with Q.

Rob Instigator 03.13.2020 09:17 AM

also, Re Cardigan Trek, I am fed the FUCK UP with the endless side scan shots while two people are seated talking. first scan left behind picard's head, then scan right behind the girls head, then back to scanning left. fucking SHIT cinematography. what a fucking annoyance that is.

!@#$%! 03.13.2020 09:21 AM

lol i haven’t seen that show yet but now i wanna

Rob Instigator 03.16.2020 09:52 AM

while chillin at home, waiting to hear if we are working remotely (not yet) , watched the first 5 episodes of Killing Eve, written by the same person that wrote and acted in Fleabag. So far, so tense! Quite exciting, and not packed with treacle.

Be interested to see what you think after you've watched it all.

And my god the terrible things I'd let Jodie Comer do to me and vice versa...

will do. As someone who has seen many shows, and read many books, I have a bit of an idea as to how this show will shake out... will confirm if correct.

Signed up for Criterion and HBO finally. Started The Wire. I like it despite having an aversion to cop/criminal situations. Finally plugged in. I am also looking forward to re-watching the Todd Hayes film "Safe".
