Actually Lawrence, KS has quite a bit of quality lysergic pumping out of its veins.

No thanks. I'll pass on whatever concoction they call "acid" over in your parts.

what's wrong with good old fashioned drugs like mushrooms, ecstasy and marijuana?

Now why would William Burroughs live somewhere where LSD was made? I think that's just where he died though.

Nothing at all. Well, ecstasy is a weird one & one I in which I can raise a cautionary point. First of all, like all the bogus acid that's out there, what's termed ecstasy is, in the vast majority of cases, usually over-the-counter ephedrine trucker speed mixed with dextromothorphan...so, buyer beware. Fortunately enough, the first ecstasy I ever did was pharmaceutical grade powder. I also lived in Dallas during the Spring/Summer of '89 & that's the scene that popularized ecstasy all over the world. Any drug though that inhibits sweating & that you can't drink water on, is, ultimately not for me. It's very easy to get water intoxication on ecstasy & fucking die. I've also known several post-ecstasy-dalliance burn-outs during my lifetime.
As for the white lady, I was 27 before I ever surrendered my soul to the cocoa demon.

people look at me and assume i do alot of drugs. which bothers me alot.. but i cant really blame them for making the assumption

Atari, you do realise that pure LSD is a crystal, right?

Crystallized acid is to regular acid what regular acid is to pot.

Basically when you synthesize it, the end product is a crystal which you reduce by adding it to water (Liquid Acid). You then take the liquid acid and a dropper (or pipette) and pipette the liquid acid onto sugar cubes.

The famed Acid Distributors on Dead Tour called "the wrecking crew" were often initiated into the distributorship by being "thumbprinted". Thumprinting is when you dip your thumb in crystalized lsd and take your thumb and PRESS IT into the back of the initiates neck....the result being a crazy ass psychosis inducing two to three day trip. If you can handle being printed, you can handle anything dealing with large quantities of lsd.

i don't really like ecstasy anyway, or marijuana. the last time i took mushrooms was 5 years ago, and even though i enjoyed them, i don't know if i'd do them again. the trouble i have is when people offer me drugs i say no, and then they start trying to persuade me so i say yes just so they'll stop bugging me.

it sounds like you have spent a little too much time on this.

Daddylikes 08.09.2006 09:53 PM

Just spent a little too much time (or not enough ;) on Phish tour.

After about 50 shows, you start to learn things like that:P

Cantankerous 08.09.2006 09:54 PM

oh jesus christ. they got you, didn't they? i'm sorry, i know you can't help being a victim.

acousticrock87 08.09.2006 09:56 PM

I saw a documentary on LSD on the History Channel. It was on Youtube a while ago but I can't find it now. It was some cool shit, though. They actually seemed to be quite pro-LSD.

Daddylikes 08.09.2006 09:57 PM

They got me? No way, a lot of my best experiences have been at Phish shows.

Of course not everyone can be into a band that will play The Beatles "The White Album", The Who's "Quadrophenia", Talking Heads "Remain in Light" and The Velvet Undergrounds "Loaded" in their entirety... but I enjoyed them quite nicely.

Best live band of the last 20 years (hands down).

Cantankerous 08.09.2006 09:58 PM

i've seen several docs like that on the history channel, most recently one about opiates which was rather interesting.

AB, go hang out with my uncle.

Was that the one that showed the footage of the British soldiers during the acid experiments? If so I caught a little of it too.

Cantankerous 08.09.2006 09:59 PM

i haven't seen that one but it sounds very interesting. to think now though it is absurd that they would have thought to use acid in any sort of espionage or military operations.

me too...I used to not be able to walk down the sidewalk in downtown Athens without some random stranger pedestrian or some hick from out of town passing by in a vehicle that just assumed that I could score them some weed. Also, during my senior year of high school this rumor spread around about me that I did cocaine which was preposterous because, at that time, I had never even seen the drug.
