i need to get my ass into the mixes thread.
|
I think the idea of this thread is great. I'd make it sticky if I could.
Thanks for a wonderful mix, porkmarras. My iPod is chanting with happiness. |
I.WANT.BROADBAND. I'm doing a "rock and rollish party muzic" thing, but I think it's a bit pointless to post my mixes without having the possibility to hear yours....I must work this thing out somehow ( I wish my friends with boadband were less lazy and more interested in new music... it's a pain in the ass to convince them dling some links, and I feel bad going to their place and start browsing with their pcs... I'm a sensitive guy, you know.)...I'm fucked.

dear porkmarras, i must say that your positive comments are much appreciated. as one can probably tell from my original post, i was unsure of the value of my mix or of how it would be received, so i'm really glad that you liked it.

yes! that was his big hit, now i remember. patrick bruel is indeed a good reference point, well done. i think i've downloaded nearly all the mixes on this thread, but i cannot seem to find the time or occasion to listen to them (it doesn't help that i'm not often in front of my computer at home these days)... will do, though, i really want to. |

I downloaded Serpiente's mix; was enthralled. Compelled to create my own; I did and here it is for your listening pleasure or enjoyment or displeasure if you please:
Move Away - Sonic Youth Infrared - DJ Spooky Vs The Freight Elevator Quartet Dead Man Walking - Praxis Black Stooges - Melvins Aamelotasis - Venetian Snares Beachy Head - Throbbing Gristle Blackhole Dub - Painkiller Aphex Airlines - Aphex Twin 24 Track Loop - This Heat Gymnopιdies 1 - Erik Satie http://filexoom.com/files/2007/2/20/...ardGrinder.mp3 |
I need new glasses. I thought this thread was "post your kidneys".
|
This is really the wrong thread to post those, but do as you please.
|
Both of you should save your mixes for the Mix Tape swap.
Oh whats that? Wrong thread? |
I could post my mixes in the mix tape swap thread, I guess. But I have no interest in a swap.
I am interested in reading other mix lists, though, and sharing mine, just not interested in trading tapes. |

It's to get her into some decent music similar to my music tastes, so I'm breaking her in with some of the more easy to listen to bands in my collection. I decided to break up the mix with some of the incidental music from Made In USA that sticks to the same theme, so it gives it an all over kinda hidden theme. I kept the interludes anonymous to the girl as she hates Sonic Youth so I see this as sorta subliminally introducing her to Sonic Youth more fully. Though I snuck in Incinerate at the end as I feel this is the best song for a Sonic Youth 'newbie' to start on. |
