Tru dat.

There's some really cool production tricks on that record, some really weird "what-the-fuck" noises.

atsonicpark 09.10.2009 06:40 AM

Okay, that's it.

album of the year:

christof kurzmann & burkhard stangl - neuschnee

atsonicpark 09.10.2009 06:41 AM

batreleaser 09.10.2009 06:44 AM

atsonicpark 09.10.2009 06:48 AM

i think the name flower man has a space in it.

it's on hanson.

it's uh... weird.. there's tapes slowing down, chimes, weird electronic gunk noises.. it's kinda like wolf eyes playing new age music.

batreleaser 09.10.2009 07:02 AM

haha, yah id prolly love it then.

atsonicpark 09.10.2009 07:03 AM

Anyone have any thoughts on the new S/T Emeralds album?

atsonicpark 09.16.2009 01:48 AM

they have ANOTHER self-titled album? Or...?! Their discography confuses me. I have had two albums by them for about a year that are "self-titled", so is this a re-release? Or... yeah.

I got the new Kurt Vile, CHILDISH PRODIGY, earlier. Dude's released a ton of good shit this year.

http://www.mediafire.com/?zycmywtnojn

not my up this time.

atsonicpark 09.16.2009 01:58 AM

Oh, actually, lemme erase my last Emeralds comment, and just comment on thier work, all-in-all:

NICE DRONES, DUDE!

atsonicpark 09.16.2009 02:46 AM

Got the Moon Phantoms album. It's a Suishou No Fune/Bardo Pond collab. Heh. Interesting...

Saw her in concert last Saturday and it's one of the most excentric shows I've seen. I had no idea who she was (five artists/bands were playing that night and I loved two of them), and I kinda liked it. She was barely dressed, in some kind of swimsuit of aerobics suit I don't know, and excessively maked-up (like, REALLY excessively). Half of the concert she was in the crowd dancing like mad and throwing water on everyone; most of the instrumentation - except for drums (which were played by a real drummer), some saxophone and her singing were played right from a sampler without her doing nothing on it .
So yeah, kinda rubbish but she was having fun and I was too (so was most of the crowd). Fun show.

the big quasar 09.17.2009 10:40 AM

this piece of filth.

chairman of the bored 09.17.2009 10:49 AM

i know its been discussed elsewhere, but not here i don't think. new lightning bolt is good.

AllHandsOnTheBigOne 09.17.2009 01:23 PM

Circle Snare by John Wiese is brilliant.

Inhuman 09.19.2009 02:15 PM

Haven't listened to much, but started on listening to some of Atsonicpark's list. Here's what I liked for this year:

-Sightings "Through the Panama"
-USA is a Monster "Space Programs"
-Gang Gang Dance "Saint Dymphna"
-Jay-Z "Blueprint 3"
-Sonic Youth "The Eternal"
-Tim Hecker - "An Imaginary Country"
-Magik Markers "Balf Quarry"
-Throbbing Gristle "The Third Mind Movements"
-Mass of the Fermenting Dregs "World is Yours"
-Khanate - "Clean Hands Go Foul"
-Greymachine - Disconnected

And one disappointment: Jeremy Enigk - OK Bear. I never knew the vocalist of Sunny Day Real Estate released solo stuff, but I did know that he was quite Christian, especially after listening to Rising Tide. This album is bad, there's one song that has it's monents and captures some of the reminiscing vocals of Sunny Day, but for the most part it's bland.

TheFoxBen 09.19.2009 02:45 PM

The best albums I've heard this year for the moment:

1. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
2. Clark - Totems Flare
3. Nosaj Thing - Drift
4. Circulatory System - Signal Morning
5. Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest
6. Wilco - Wilco
7. Boston Spaceships - The Planets Are Blasted
8. Robert Pollard - Elephant Jokes
9. Sonic Youth - The Eternal
10. Oneida - O
11. Bibio - Ambivalence Avenue
12. Prefuse 73 - Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian
13. Dälek - Gutter Tactics
14. The Antlers - Hospice
15. Dorian Concept - When Planets Explode

atsonicpark 09.23.2009 01:28 AM

Seriously, everyone get that christof kurzmann and burkhard stangl disc "neuschnee", it is staggering. Best of the year no doubt.

It's hard to describe. It's got this weird EIA drone throughout most of it, with folky guitar plinkerings, subtle electronic manipulations, field recordings, and more, thrown into (sometimes) a pop context. Never heard anything like it, brilliant.

_slavo_ 09.23.2009 01:56 AM

thanks for tip Adam.

atsonicpark 09.23.2009 01:58 AM

It's just indescribable, man. It's one of those records where I want to actually hang out with my friends and play them the record.

_slavo_ 09.23.2009 01:58 AM

I sent you an PM

PAULYBEE2656 09.23.2009 11:09 AM
