Never watched a moment of this but I’ve enjoyed the Ben Frost score |

I am not familiar with his work, but certainly going to check more out, thanks! That was one of the many wonderful creative aspects of this show. His soundtrack was beautifully haunting and perfectly helped set the tone of the show. |

Pretty talented composer and ambient-noise tinkerer. By The Throat and AURORA are both amazing albums. Also he’s collaborated with Swans and others. Cool dude. |
Also I’ve been watching this a bit. Fucking super weird and hilarious and there’s lots of great music (and a Kim Gordon appearance!)

I started watching Absolutely Fabulous yesterday :) still 4 and a half seasons to go! |
Started rewatching Malcolm in the Middle and man what a great show. How the fuck did Jane Kaczmarek never win an Emmy? Shameful

Forgot to state, that i also finished Northern Exposure Season 2. I'll be damned if this show doesn't make me long for small town life...even if i literally grew up in that.

![]() This is a series based on true events about a widespread corruption scandal in Brazil. It's a bit too dramatized perhaps, but a very interesting story nonetheless. Makes it also more understandable why Bolsonaro is such a douche |
Boardwalk Empire, finally. Pretty good.

I've started watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, I'm enjoying it. I do like a good period piece.

I remember starting to watch this over a decade ago after someone on myspace (that's how you can tell it was a decade ago) had recommended it to me. For some reason I stopped watching after episode 6 or so, intending to pick it up again. Alas, it didn't happen until now. Generally really well made, but there are some things in it that absolutely wouldn't fly today (and rightfully so). Very rough around the edges, but the core writing is quite engaging, as are its characters. I have some other minor gripes like the multitude of deus ex machina solutions that seem to save the day quite often, but a really enjoyable watch nonetheless. |

Just finished season 2, holy Christ what a gut punch! I can’t help but feel that Steve Buscemi - much as I like him and always have - doesn’t *quite* fit the role. I have trouble seeing him as a boss type. I feel like someone else might have been a better fit. Someone with just a bit more gravitas. I can only think of Gabriel Byrne, though, and he’s too Irish to make it work (don’t believe he’s ever tried to lose the Irish brogue, but could be wrong). Great show, though. Great cast full of excellent actors who went on to do other excellent things. Great period piece detail, too. If you like it, check out the new Perry Mason show on HBO. It’s ASTONISHINGLY beautiful. (I know, I know — Perry Mason was our grandparents’ scene, but Matthew Rhys from The Americans does a great job and the show is paced in a very modern, gripping, powerful way, with great performances and cinematography.) |

Yep yep. The guy who plays Lenny Bruce is extremely on point in that show. |
OH HEY SYMBOLS!
What did you think of The New Pope? Sequel to Young Pope? Came out in… Uh... maybe late last year? Good stuff. |
Another cool little thing about The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, I watched an episode two nights ago where the owner of the comedy club name drops Nichols and May, meaning Mike Nichols and Elaine May, literally the night after I had just watched Mikey and Nicky which was directed by Elaine May. Just a cool kismet moment, which I might not have appreciated had I not seen the movie and did some rudimentary internet searching on Elaine May.

Been watching Anthony Bourdain's parts unknown on Netflix. When he died he had totally passed me by. I don't think we got him on TV here in the UK. I might be wrong, mind. Anyway, finally seeing what the hype was in this brilliant series.

![]() I wanted to watch a cop/crime series on netflix and realised I had never seen 24 yet, so there you go. Not sure if I'll last all 8 seasons, let's see how far it will get until I get bored by it... only watched the first two episodes so far. For a 20 year old series it still looks good. The multi-framing is a bit annoying though, it was probably new at the time. An oddity I noticed: according to Netflix there are 9 seasons (or 8 1/2 it seems, the 9th season doesn't have as much episodes), according to imdb there were 8... (edit: ah ok, season 9 was shot five years after season 8) |
I stalled from watching 24 for the moment, it's too hot right now to watch such a suspenseful hectic series. So instead I'm binching on this:
![]() it's cool, after watching most of the first season's 26 episodes, only one was really stupid. The rest is funny And also trying to keep on track with the NBA, we get sometimes one game a day to watch, if there's no football or any other sports. |
On season 2 of Shameless. Think I’m addicted. 10 seasons and it’s all on Netflix? Yay!

Currently watching 'Time Gentleman Please' and loving it
Al Murray is superb. g. |
Almost through Star Trek TNG now and I've started watching DS9 now.
A way more solid start than TNG. Also dig that they decided to portray the relationships of the main characters in a more adversarial way than one would have been used to from its predecessor. It's certainly different in tone, but the character development is quite natural. I used to watch DS9 halfheartedly as a kiddo back in the late 90s and possibly some reruns in the early 2000s. Funny how such obvious things like tone, subtext etc. just go completely over your head as a wee one. Looking forward to catching up with it some more. |

Also: Stopped watching after I got to one episode in which the transphobia was just mind-boggingly vicious, even for the times it was produced in. Besides, all the goodwill it had gained with some solid character moments in the first few episodes was completely eroded once the main character seemed to turn increasingly OP with each passing episode, turning it into a monster/obstacle of the week show. Bah, trite. |
I am watching the latest Bear Grilly show with the eco-challenge type race.
|
i got a free month of cbs all something something. anything there i shouldn’t miss, besides old episodes of ru paul’s drag race?
|
Lovecraft Country seems good.
I haven’t read the book, but I like how they make it very clear, like, right away, that Lovecraft was a racist fuck in addition to being a really imaginative and groundbreaking writer. I haven’t read the book this time so I’m interested to see what the fuck happens hah |
