I wish I had a scanner or something, 'cuz I have a few sitting on my record player that I am quite in love with. Two polaroids and four or five 35 mm. I'm right now liking the look of bordered matte photos.

Clone,
where is that urban decay pic from? |
I like taking pictures of Urban areas, and also of people, I am saving to buy a digital camera, I need at least 1,000 dollars. I am going for the Canon EOS 30D.

my best friend just bought the 30D! i think he dropped upwards of 1,300 for it along with some goodies, but man oh man was it worth it. of course the camera doesn't make the pictures, but using the 30D really does make a difference. |
Yeah, If I had a scanner I would post some of mine, but I don't.
Is anyone pursuing a degree in photography? |

The big one with the graffiti is the old Glenwood/Inglewood water bottling plant on the border of North Minneapolis and Golden Valley. The other bombed-out building is along the river near downtown St Paul. |

here the link to the tiny site I made for my photos I catch during my trips. I have just a 2 dollar digi machine but I'm thinking to get a good one... http://www.sonicurbs.com/photos |
next step -I really the pictures on your site, but I noticed there are quite a few that are a bit too dark. Perhaps you should use photoshop (or a similar photo editing program) to lighten them up a bit? Just a suggestion, as I think your pictures have a lot of potential.

I love this one :D |
Yes Angella I know about the darkness but I made all them with a real toy machine and so I had to darken them to see the colors come up. Maybe I could lighten some of them though......then it's depend from the monitor, I have 2 lucent LCD and I have set the color based on them.....glad that you enjoyed the pictures, most important thing!
|
Yeah that's true, and I know some things come up darker on my monitor (compared to the last one I had). Ah, the downsides to digital photography..
But yeah, I really did enjoy a lot of them. I hope to see more from you :) |
I took this one a while back, in a bus stop. |
First, a picture of the fire pit at my aunts cottage on manitoulin island. Something about this picture I like... maybe the memories attached to it, as me and a cousin and his friend, and another cousins friend all played guitar and sang along and stuff. Good fun.
Second, a picture of this freshly collapsed barn on the way to Montreal. A huge storm, a tornado; if you will, tore through the area the day before, so there was wreckage/carnage everywhere... tipped silos, rooves of barns strewn about the enormous fields... etc. I got my camera out in time to catch this, and there wasn't much after it... I wish I got some more pictures of the area... Oh, also, in this area there was a few police cars/ambulances, and this taped off area of a field, so I think someone died! |
