zombie apocalypse! hahaha gets one in the right mindset :D was tempted by it but dont have a ps4 meanwhile, playing “infection” helped me plan for the future. no joke! games are rehearsals for real life lolol == @nicfit what game is that? |
It’s Red dead redemption 2 online on pc. I’m a bit late to the party but only now I can find the time to properly try and do something in it. It’s just insane.
|
oh i had heard about red dead redemption and it was supposedly very good but i’ve never had a chance.
does it take long to play? these days i can only manage short bouts of gaming during the day. i am probably overdue for a digital vacation though. i don’t mean time away from electronic devices... i mean a whole weekend immersed in an alternate reality or something. |
I tried Red Dead 1 and found it to be boring.

Me encanta jugar FIFA 20 con mi ps4. Este es el juego de mi vida y paso un tiempo feliz con él.

Replaying Valkyria Chronicles on my PC. I miss tactical games like that. I was hoping Final Fantasy Tactics was ported to steam but nah....:(

well..I didn't even touch the single player mode, which should roughly amount to 50 hours of gameplay for the main story only (without sidequests etc). 50 hours of good story, with great characters and plot, btw. But I'm not ready for that, ahaha. I play online because you get the "whole map" already unlocked (in single player you "discover" new places going on with the plot) and I just enjoy going around, doing some errands for the different roles, finding weird places / weird people / weird sitautions etc. And "missions" in the online component of the game are usually pretty quick, so I don't risk to get involved in long story missions that I'd better not let fail just because I don't have enough time to finish them. If you play on pc you'd need a pretty performant vga to enjoy the game at higher detail settings. On console, it still looks pretty amazing (I hate playing games where you need to aim with pads, though..even with aiming aids activated). The attention to detail in the game is just insane. There are a few youtube vids that show how many things the developers were able to fit in it, subtle details you could even go a full playthrough without even noticing. The way animals "live" is stunning. It can be a sort of "meditative" game. Until some other player shots you in the head with a shotgun. |
ah i think i'm going to have to wait a few years until my hardware catches up with the current standards (on an 8 year old mbp right now).
it's okay, i can wait... Quote:
just like going hunting with dick cheney, if you recall the news from 14 years ago :D ![]() |
So....with this lockdown happening....I've been having an urge to play an MMORPG....I was excited for WoW Classic, but blizzard sort of fucked that one up for me with the whole China BS from last year. I saw FFXIV was free until like level 35...so I'm trying that out.....and what I had feared.....has actually happened.....I'm loving it. The good thing is....I get to stay inside all the damn time now so I can actually dedicate some time to it now while I have it.

Any Last of Us fans keeping up with the leaks and shitshow cropping up around Last of Us 2? Woke up to the news about it all just this morning and have been pretty intrigued by it all.
|
Animal Crossing on the Switch. It allows me to live a normal life in unnormal times.
|
I'm mulling over picking up Breath of the Wild again today, I know i started a re-play many many months ago, but didn't stick to it for very long that time around.
|
Quote:
I still haven't picked this up, is it as good as everyone says? |
Quote:
Yes, I think so, and I did succeed in picking it up again, at least for an afternoon. We'll see how far I take it this time around. |
Quote:
Thanks, I shall check it out. Currently obsessed with Tetris 99... |
Quote:
what kinda game is that? farming/grinding? something like stardew valley? |
Quote:
It's a cutesy life simulator that runs at your own pace, the more you put in the more you gain it ultimately there is no winning or losing. You fish, catch bugs, shop and decorate your home. It's fun. |
Quote:
lol |
what. Stardew valley is a great game. first I started playing it because of my daughter and then I got so hooked I play it even without her.
|
Quote:
It does look good, reminds me of Harvest Moon on the Gamecube. |

it's simple on the first sight, but surprisingly complex when you dwell deeper into it. recommended. |

Cool, I shall check it out. Cheers. |
I stopped playing videogames regularly around the time most franchises went online. Guess I was always just kind of into the antisocial experience of being immersed by an interactive world just by yourself. Then again, I also couldn't be arsed to buy into any new console generation that would emerge after the PS2 (shit, that was ages ago).
I have however over the years dabbled in some games. I've recently visited a VR enthusiast (before the whole Corona shit went down) who introduced me to Rez Infinite. It was fun and kind of makes you want to bust out a few nice moves whilst blasting spaceships to fucking smithereens. There was also this game where you're an eagle gliding through an empty, post-apocalyptic Paris. That's my sort of game - sandboxy, chill as fuck and also quite addictive. I had also bought a copy of Limbo a few years back. Loved it, but unfortunately, my laptop would overheat too much while playing. I'll play a few rounds of The Duck Game whenever I visit a trusty old pal in Upper Austria. Fast-paced cartoon violence and whacky stages - hell yeah. As for the classics: I still love the shit out of the first three MGS games. Hate what they did with the franchise afterwords - both storywise and gameplay-wise. Still traditionally go for a battle with The End whenever I'm at my old playing grounds. |
I don't care to play games online with others all in the same "world" and whatnot. Solo games, i generally have no issue with. That said, even then I just stick with Metroid and Legend of Zelda games.

That game was so visually intoxicating. Really good playthrough for sure. I would recommend anyone check it out. |
Just finished the last of us II
...My god. I actually wanna go back and do it again already which NEVER happens with games. |
![]() this cabinet is a New Net City. So fuckin' slick....I love this cabinet. But it's only drawback, for me at least, is that it only natively plays JVS or JAMMA 2 which is basically games made in 2000 and after. mines are a blast city, which is the utilitarian's cabinet. Plays both JAMMA and JVS. With one of the best CRT monitors ever made imo. Tri Sync monitors which allow for 15/24/31 khz signals. ![]() |
Played through TLOU and TLOU Part II in the span of a month.
Part II is a gut-wrenching masterpiece in storytelling. I'm so glad I managed to avoid EVERY DAMN LEAK AND SPOILER. This is my face at the end of the playthrough. ![]() AND THE SOUNDTRACK, Santaolalla wasn't enough, eh!, now there' also Mac Quayle contributing. |
I bought it too but haven't managed to get past first two hours of gameplay
a bit boring, surprisingly (which is a dissapointment, how I loved part 1) |
Quote:
Honestly (I don’t mean this with an aura of “superiority” or anything like that), I think Tlou2 is not for everyone. It’s paced in a weird way, it’s LOOOOOOONG, it’s sad, to be fully appreciated it demands a few things out of the player that not everyone will be willing to or even be able to “invest” in a “game”. And most of all,(much more than part I) it’s hardly definable as entertaining. As it happens with some of my favorite movies, I loved it but I wouldn’t really know wether to recommend it or not for its overall heaviness, on different levels, and the commitment it requires. I could fully understand how someone who liked part I could end up not finishing/not liking part II (beside all the crap people gave it for all the wrong reasons, now that I catched up with some of the controversies that came up from the leaks and after the actual release). |
The Last of us is classic and the slow burn multiplayer too, unfortunately I've had the sequel spoiled via leaks. Fuck the internet.
Anyone know of Gone Home: The early 90's nostalgia trip with the Bikini Kill and Bratmobile soundtrack. There's SY references in there, the likes one has not seen since Silent Hill back in foken 98'. |
The Last of Us 1 Multiplayer is my drug of choice. I play it everyday if I can.
