EARTHBOUND is great. Definitely better than MOTHER. I'm still pissed that MOTHER3 and the re-release of 1,2 were only released in Japan on GBA>

Mother never got a hold on me, it remained just a game I played out thinking mah...Earthbound's humour and great gameplay make it a great re-play title.

Pardon my intrusion. I have a few friends that love gaming etc...I currently dont have a system and am not entirely convinced i want one, but if I had to choose one which should it be?

I always recomend this setup: Gamecube with Gameboy Player attached. (Of course, I'm not interested in "new" games. I'm very much a retro-gamer, with emphasis on 8/16-bit eras.)

BUT the Gamecube library is great. And the GBPlayer allows you to play GB/GBC/GBA games, which is a huuuuuuuuuuge library. The GBA library alone is inredible, and rivals the SNES (in my opinion).

Ok, most of the guys i know with systems are into the playstion 3 xbox 360 things. I shouldn't get one of those, also my this girl i hang out with is gonna get wii, maybe i should check that out too, no?

Wii is pretty great... it offers new games, plus Virtual Console for old games. I'd get one if I could afford to right now. But I can't. So I stick with my GC/GB-retro setup. Of course it is a bit more fun to collect GB carts than to just download a game to the VC. But that's preference.

Well, I finally finished Order of Ecclesia.. had to use an FAQ to kill Dracula, I am ashamed. Now I don't know what to play next. Possibly Dragon Quest VIII or finishing up Super Mario Galaxy (I only have like 25 stars.)

I lost my last sim to hard drive failure, and now it's hard to start over. I slept with the boss's wife, dumped her for new hotness and almost became a rock star. all. gone.

the best I can do now is run around town with my evil witch scaring children.

I'd say 90% of the games that I play are from 8-bit or 16-bit consoles. But that's my preference. I was just noticing that a lot of you guys don't seem to share that same preference with me.

I"m hoping to hit up old school games soon...I'm looking for a driver for my PS3 controller to work with 64 bit vista....

Get a Wii, seriously. You'll love the virtual console, you can downoad all these long-lost NES, SNES, VIRTUAL BOY!, etc. games onto the wii.

I know. I was just being a jerk. I keep getting that from people "hey man, get the Wii -- YOU would totally Love the Virtual Console." ANd I'm like "Yeah. I. Know." sob.

BUT whatever. I really do love my 'Cube, as I talk about on here all the time... I use the GBPlayer a lot, so basically I'm always on the hunt at yardsales and thrift shops for awesome and obscure Gameboy games or GBA-re-releases of NES/SNES/etc games. Thankfully there's a pretty amazing library out there for me to work thru, and to be honest, it's a lot more fun to track down old cartridges and put em on a shelf than to just download a virtual game (ie: ROM).

Cartoon graphics aside, this is like my 6 year old wet dream. I'm going to battle Stay Puft right now and it's fucking awesome.


The PS3 version with realistic graphics would be a present-day wet dream.
