Got caught in a very rare onstage smile while participating in a 28-hour drone piece here in Mpls last weekend.

Also got some sitar in on the second shift, transitioning out of Low's "set."

Rob Instigator 02.13.2014 01:58 PM

Is that your electric Sitar? That thing looks awesome.

floatingslowly 02.13.2014 02:18 PM

unacceptable!

savagie? when will you upload some new thunderbolt pagoda clip?
im tired of adoring you in the old ones.

Savage Clone 02.15.2014 10:47 AM

Maybe next week; we have our first weekend headlining spot at what is probably the best "loud music" club in the city. I will try and wrangle someone for video. Hope people show up for that! Honestly I am nervous about headlining a weekend bill.
The new album is 3/4 done though. Your beautiful drawing will be on the cover!

Nefeli 02.15.2014 10:53 AM

lalalallalala i feel so hot about myself right now!

Nefeli 02.15.2014 10:54 AM

and you ll do fine....you are amazing.
i wish i could listen the 24h gig as well. how long did you play?

edit- i still feel very hot about myself. just trying not to be so selfcenteredabsorvedspellfuck.

Savage Clone 02.15.2014 11:06 AM

The drone gig will be streaming sometime soon. 28 hours! I did an hour with two Thunderbolt bandmates and my old Salamander bandmate Sean (hadn't played with him since 2006), then another 20 minutes on the electric sitar with a couple of other friends. A lot of people took shifts in that thing, and I think we raised nearly $3000.00 for Doctors Without Borders.

Nefeli 02.15.2014 11:07 AM

hey thats amazing...good for you..
we ll be waiting for the streaming link. without patience.

When I first saw this, I mistakenly read it as: The new album is 3/4 drone.

What a worthy cause!

Was there anything specific / special about 28 hours? I mean, was the time of 28 hours predetermined? They should have sold stream slots to this performance.

Savage Clone 02.15.2014 01:00 PM

It was predetermined. Not sure why 28 hours; the one I participated in about ten years ago in Duluth was 25 hours, so maybe he was just going longer to go longer.
No real idea though. Drone Not Drones is his organization. He's into it.

yeah it's the Hori Tekken 5 stick for PS2. it's not great. It's the same size/shape/weight as a Real Arcade Pro - but uses stock Hori buttons instead of Sanwa. And not as easy to mod.

I got it cheap years ago, so I just keep it around since I have adapters for most consoles to use PS2 controllers.

EVOLghost 02.16.2014 09:48 AM

Yeah, it looked like an RAP...I kind of really want one. I love their size and shape....I was using one for Alpha 2 a couple weeks back.
(we're bringin' old games back! 3s is slowly comin' back up and now people are getting hype for CVS2. Next on the list....is ALpha 2)

noisereductions 02.16.2014 10:02 AM

HRAP's are nice for sure. I dont know. This thing isn't the best, but far from the worst. Like I said, it's basically an HRAP shell w/ diff buttons. I've bought/sold so many sticks over the years but always keep this one around. So there's that.

The prettiest HRAP is the Mushihimsama one... OMG.

For DC I always prefer the Agetec stick though.

CvS2 rulez.

Have you seen my new site/blog? noiseredux.weebly.com

Basically my thoughts on my DC/NGPC collecting.
