? I was referring to the MGS3 Anime. |

ah ok :) I thought you spotted a cameo of snake somewhere not MGS-related |
al, I'm fairly certain that the PSP release is region free as well. Do you have a PSP?
If not yr best bet would be racketboy forum. I bet someone has an extra. |
dont got a psp unfortunately.
want the gba version!!! will check some secondhand stores in the next minute...in REAL LIFE!!! yeehaw :) |
the GBA version is amazing though. I believe it has the most voice clips of any GBA release. The PSP actually just uses the GBA graphics -- though the PSP has higher resolution screen. But it's really the same thing except PSP has FULL voice acting.
|
what? nice.
the only thing which isnt clear for me is the genre-style? is it a dungeon crawler or is it story heavy like a rpg? |
very story heavy. It's like a visual novel.
Think of it as an RPG, except yr basically reading a story and going from fight to fight. There is no walking around. No exploring. It's very limited like this: MOVE BACK MOVE FORWARD those are yr options. You move to the next screen. More story is revealed. An attack. FIGHT RUN That's it. The game is super-limiting, but that's kind of the point. Everything is about simple choices. It's very fork-in-the-road. And the outcome of the story... the ending... the relationships you have with yr party members, everything changes based upon yr choices. it sounds kind of overly-simplified, but it's not. You just have to play it and it just makes sense. |
sounds a lot like SMT: Devil Survivor on the DS.
every decision you make could lead to another death of your friends, or could save them etc. which made the game totally exciting! |
get it get it get it
|
after finally hooking up my ps3 again....I continued my save on this game....nice wwII-esque turn based strat |
I just wish the sequels weren't psp exclusives....but they cracked the PS3 code! so now all that is left is a psp emu....
|
I finally got my $20 Goodwill PS2 working and have been playing:
and Also, I picked up this last night for $23, but I realized I don't have a PS1 memory card, so I'm out for another scavenging adventure today. |
got rayman for the ps1, brand new, for $3. it was worth that. Overrated game. There were so many better 2D games on the PSX that no one cared about... It was still fun though. They opened up a new store in the mall and if you buy 3 PS2 games, they gave you a free PSP or PS1 game as long as it was under a certain price. Well I bought some collections, like the KING OF FIGHTERS collection and Taito Legends 1, and got my best friend Robbie LUMINES II for the psp: Lumines, of course, is probably my favorite puzzle game ever. He said he's worried that it will be too addictive. |
Bought 2 more games today:
$21.95 (much more than I like to pay for used game, but the lore of this game made me buy it) $2.95 (I've heard good things and the price was right. They had the sequel for $4.95, but I passed until I decide if I like the 1st) |
Hmm, yeah, Shadow of the Collosus used for $22 kinda sucks but at least you didn't pay $50 for it new like a lot of people did. Still, it's been a greatest hits title for a while, so I can't believe someone would charge you that much for it. I'd slap 'em! It's a pretty cool game, great atmosphere and storyline but it has some control issues and too much emptiness. There's just flat-out not much to do, and it gets frustrating. It's an easy game, but some of the bosses have patterns that are annoying -- you must do a precise jump or a precise climb, before the collosus throws you off.
Still, it's a game you'll probably want to play until the end, and the soundtrack is absolutely incredible. I hadn't played it for a few years so I just gave it away to a friend for free recently. But I will say that I had more fun after beating the game, just kinda riding the horse around and stuff. The environments are absolutely awesome. I HIGHLY reccomend Ico -- it has all the best elements of Collossus, but is a lot more rewarding. The soundtrack is nothing but heavenly drone and mysterious noises and whatnot (aside from a BEAUTIFUL acoustic song). The entire game is nothing but puzzles, aside from a few battles where you hit creatures with a stick (and later a sword, if you solve a puzzle). the handholding mechanic is genius. It's the one game I feel that really transports you to another place altogether. |
I saw like a dozen Shadow Of The Colossus brand new for under $20 while out shopping yesterday mang.
|
|
I'm still playing through Ninja Gaiden II on the 360....fucking awesome game. Also, I've been playing the 4 Marvel Pinball tables, Pac Man Championship Edition, and Galaga Legions from Xbox Live and all 3 are a ton of fun. I bought Super Meat Boy too. but haven't played it yet. |
|
That Mega Man collection is great....I have it for Xbox.
|
yeah I had it for GCN as well, but the GCN port sucks since the buttons are swapped from the NES version. The PS2 version gets it perfect.
|
anyway, I finally decided I couldnt live with out a PS2 anymore. Bought another one. This time a slim along with those 3 games up above, and already ordered half a dozen more PS1 and PS2 games along with a Hori arcade stick.
|
|
Super Mario Galaxy No More Heroes |
|
I now suggest everyone here to start saving up for a ps3....
http://kotaku.com/5725088/you-can-no...m-ps3-firmware cause once the custom firmware gets released. |
^yeah big news. But I'll hold off for a while til they're really cheap and until the homebrewers get a good PS2 emulator working on it. But yeah, this news made PS2 the next Dreamcast.
|

|
nice Dr.
|
+ = (on GC) |
^hahahahaha yup
|
after playing this for 20 minutes, I am afraid my adrenaline wont let me sleep half the night, hahaha some screens: some of the coolest looking parallax scrolling from the 16bit era, I think |
Quote:
that's whut I'm mo fuggin' talk about. My favorite side scrolling shooters....however the arcade version is harder(better) |
I was under the impression (from HG101) that this anthology IS just ports of the arcade versions.
|
Quote:
hmmm....I never played the anthology but I've played the console ports and they always have come off much easier than their arcade counterparts. Of course just about everything is the same....just the difficulty. |
yeah I'm pretty sure that all the SNK compilations on PS2 are ports of the arcade versions (basically they're just a MAME emu with games on a disc) there's no extras or anything even.
|
so then there's a coin button?
if so.....AWESOME! and I will hunt. |
Quote:
not sure, I've owned it less than 24 hrs. :) |
I rarely play, except that I've been playing a hell lot of this game (but on Xbox:
THAT, GTA san andreas and icy Tower. I guess thats it, haha :) |
