more like, it's a cross between having too many drinks and trying to find your hotel room.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 03.27.2015 02:15 AM

Seemed more psychedelic..lets split the difference. Finding hotel room during credits for In Living Color after too much tequila?

buy bonds or dividend stocks and pay your body art from the coupon/dividend

that way you can get tattoos perpetually.

schizophrenicroom 03.29.2015 10:01 PM

hah. i wish. next tat is going to be the chemical structure of dopamine, probably.

i'm bored. two days off and nothing to do. i've been looking into wwoof for a period of time in the next two years.

it's totally within reach

1 share of coca-cola (dividend stock) right now is only $40.

a $400 tat = 10 coke shares that pay dividends for life

plus you can sell the stock when you need a yacht

money is sweet if you learn how to make it work for you instead of your working for it. sweeeet sweeet sweeet money.

you're smart enough to learn that!

if you can manage $8/hr then you can manage $800/day.

otherwise look at mc hammer lol-- or whoever threw his millions into the shitter more recently.

schizophrenicroom 03.29.2015 10:46 PM

an ex-lover of sorts does day trading, i should ask him about that realm. if i could pay off all my awful debt i racked up, i'd sleep a lot better.

why are hammer pants still a thing? i see girls on campus (i work right near the college campus here) who look like they're wearing diapers.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 03.29.2015 10:56 PM

SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULESSssss!

!@#$%! 03.29.2015 10:57 PM

nooooo.... no day trading! that's gambling.

you just need an emergency fund to start it all. say $1k. just sock away a little every day, in case of emergencies-- no more cash advances payday loans or calls to mom. just $1k in savings-- makes a huge difference. fuck, start with $500.

the dopamine releases of hitting a savings goal or clearing up a debt are super-potent and satisfying. if you pave your road with little goals like that it's like the sweet taste of victory for breakfast.

OR instead of a goal, install a system-- save 10% of your take-home pay every day. save it, not spend it later. just save it. see what happens.

schizophrenicroom 03.29.2015 10:58 PM

yeah, that's my goal, the 10-15%. i really need to get shit in order this year, and plan to. i'm lucky to not have to worry about rent until august, which helps a lot.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 03.29.2015 10:59 PM

!@#$%! 03.29.2015 11:01 PM

don't need to get anything in order to start a savings account. it's the savings account that gets things in order. even if you put $7 each day you go to work.

try it for the dopamine. i swear. you'll soon be cackling with satisfaction.

gtg but it's true.

CACKLING.

schizophrenicroom 03.29.2015 11:02 PM

YESSSS to slowdive.

i do it all for the dopamine.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 03.29.2015 11:03 PM

schizophrenicroom 03.29.2015 11:27 PM

prisoners get 23 cents an hour making furniture. that's fast money!

but at least you get 3 squares & a bed-- that you have to pay for

and nothing like a drug conviction to get federal student aid.

but if you get shot in the face-- no need to worry about anything. the dead don't buy groceries.

some real talk going on up in this thread - i like it

dead_battery 03.30.2015 08:11 PM

the fact that i continue to live is just a joke.

haaa haaaa haaaa YESSSSSSSSS!!!

when you say "drugs" include any things you think you desperately need but you don't really

the whole culture is based on that-- making you think that some special product is going to make you complete or special or an individual-- and you crave it desperately and you buy it and it gives you a moment of satisfaction and then you feel empty again

you're already complete/special/ an individual and it costs nothing

dead_battery 03.30.2015 10:04 PM

the only way to survive low income is to spend like this:

minimum dollar for maximum permanence and optimum functionality.

i will recieve a casio f91w watch in the post soon.

the reason i bought this one and not any other one is i did some research with google. these are basically the best, strongest, cheapest things ever. recommended by soldiers and professional watch makers. battery will last for like 10 years, all the functions i need etc. stories online about people trying to destroy it putting it through stress tests and it still works.

this is how i buy shit - i do some research. and so i just spent like £9 on something that i could use everyday for maybe a decade or more.

you have to strip away all the pretensions and get down to the functional core of things. like shoes - you do the research and you can find extremely comfortable high quality ones for like £25. ones that will last ages.

when you start to think like this you drastically narrow down the possibilities for your money to get blown on trivial shit.

like i said already, ive done over 6 months in one pair of good jeans. my goal is to go through the entire of 2015 with this one pair. not out of some puritan ethic or whatever - its just how i do.

consumerism is great but you have to actually think about it. its not a matter of simply trying to impose a want/need dichotomy and oscillating between guilt and discipline, its just a matter of thinking.

it takes years to learn how to stretch money - your study is always incomplete.

dead_battery 03.30.2015 10:06 PM

when it comes to necessities, you have to spend with a view to not have to spend ever again. the ideal would be to buy something for pennies once and keep it for the rest of your life, you're trying to get as close as possible to that.

and i dont feel bad about this. it feels good. in fact, i think the best way to be is to adopt these kind of habits with such a mindframe that if you got really rich, you'd keep them up.

i dont waste money on shit anymore. in the past i used to waste it all on drugs and clothes and shit, but the way i am now is honestly more enjoyable.

!@#$%! 03.30.2015 11:27 PM

maybe too hardcore for some... but to baterķa... i recommend this thing + a 5-gallon bucket (20L? used commonly in construction--buy at hardware store) as a washing machine

http://www.amazon.com/MobileWasher-O.../dp/B003SQ7I5S

IT IS FUCKING EXCELLENT.

we started using it before our cabin had running water. then we got running water & bought a washing machine. then we returned the defective piece of shit, got our cash back, and went back to manual. never looked back. a nice little workout, requires no electricity, washes better than a machine, you get no diseases from public laundries, it saves water, saves clothes, it's practically indestructible, cheap to replace if ever needed, etc. etc. simply brilliant.
