Other, but three honourable mentions first:

Nicolas Copernicus did fantastic work, and gave us a great insult which I intend using one day.

Feliks Pawel Jarocki was an ornithologist of some importance, but I won't vote for him as I don't know enough. I'm tempted to though.

King Wladyslaw I (known as 'The Elbow-High') seems to have had his good points from what I recall, but I can't vote again, for the same reason as above.

So it's a fairly predictable one: Krystof Kieslowski, a great film-maker. Apart from the poltical ones, and the Ten Commandments sequence, there is Three Colours: White, truly a masterpiece. He died aged 55, which is a shame.

I was compelled to vote for good old Karol, pope JPII. And that despite the fact that I was raised a catholic and am an atheist now.

Everything. Everything is wrong with Andy Warhol. Everything about that snivelling little gobshite is wrong. Everything about his feeble introduction of Emporer's new clothes into the lexicon of art criticism is wrong with him. Everything about his general contributions to the art world (apart from the art, which is quite good) is horribly, horribly wrong. And I think he should come back from the dead so that he can die again.

Warhol is far from my favorite artist although I like a lot of his work. I just think it's funny how everyone is busting his balls.
