Do you do your own hair?

I have for a number of years now, and it's always short, which means that I have become accustomed to the drony sound of clipper machines. The one I have right now is ace and really loud. One of my flatmates came upstairs and asked me if the boiler was making a funny sound, once. It can't be that bad and he is a stoner, so it suits him. Share your own hair styling experiences.

Back when I will trying to "fit in", I decided one day to try having a number 4 all over. It looked like I was in the army or something. Soon after that I just let it grow.
Though last summer I had braids put in which was really cool. But I had to use gel to keep down the loose hairs. It got too untidy after a while so I had to take them out, though it was a sad day and I got very worried when it looked like all my hair was being brushed out with the braids.

I get my hair cut at a salon that my mother's friend's sister owns.

FOR FREE.

!@#$%! 05.31.2007 05:51 PM

i do now. i got tired of cheap haircuts in my town and i bought a $20 clipper. best investment ever. TZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ........

i look good with no hair. makes me look like the tough guy i'm not. and the price is great.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.31.2007 05:59 PM

I usually let someone else do it. Because sometimes when I cut my own hair it ends up horrible.

Everyneurotic 05.31.2007 06:56 PM

i do it myself and have done it since like high school i think. i wanted punky spiked hair and that's why.

now i have shoulder lenght hair and i'm afraid it's time for a haircut, but i've been doing long-ish hair for a while so no worries of a hair disaster.

I go to a barbers and have it done because I'm a sophisticated gent, not a low down dirty gutterpunk like some people. Only joking! I'm actually a bit jealous of people who feel they can cut their own hair. Works out cheaper and you avoid the banal small talk associated with a trip to the barbers. As it happens I went today and, yes, the chap did ask me if I was going on holiday.

pokkeherrie 05.31.2007 07:03 PM

they always do that, asking if you're going on holiday. or else if you've been on a holiday recently.

Everyneurotic 05.31.2007 07:06 PM

i actually started because i couldn't get a decent haircut for years.

schizophrenicroom 05.31.2007 07:31 PM

i cut it myself then if i need to get it evened out i'll go to the stylist within a few days.

indeed. however, if i do get my haircut by a "proffesional" i got to the toni & guy academy as it only costs a fiver and i don't mind making small talk with more or less attractive ladies.

schizophrenicroom 05.31.2007 08:18 PM

ooh, my cousin was training to work there, toilet. but it didn't work out.

Barber College?

phoenix 05.31.2007 09:46 PM

yes I do

ALIEN ANAL 05.31.2007 10:21 PM

i cut my own hair because im scared of the damn hair dressers
everytime i go i walk out regretting it, and i also have a thing with people touching me or standing close to me..i freak out and feel really uncomfortable.

My hair is shit though and i want it cut properly, with that i mean so its just not so bad looking. I do straighten my fringe and other parts out the in the morning how ever because i have curly hair and the fringe does this stupid twist thing..noones going to read this :D :P

SynthethicalY 05.31.2007 11:30 PM

I get it cut military style, because I like my hair short, I may go soon to get it chopped off.

I go to a place around the corner from home that charges five quid for a man's cut. All I have done is the clippers run over it, so I don't need anything fancy and expensive. I'm sure I'll get around to buying my own clippers some time soon though.
