Upcoming untitled monster-destructo movie!?!?! *People who saw Transformers saw this*

A friend of mine talked about this trailer he saw before the Transformers movie tonight. The trailer apparently included all grainy hand-held style footage of some kind of like.. birthday party, and then this "earthquake" or explosion, and then New York getting all destroyed by some invisible monster.
There's basically no information about it, I guess the common conclusion being reached is, obviously, Godzilla, but it sounds fucking awesome.
Here's one link (nothing there but a picture)
http://www.1-18-08.com/
and a very ambiguous imdb page...
http://imdb.com/title/tt1060277/synopsis

And! Here's the trailer on youtube... shot on someone's camera phone, I guess...

Fuck this looks so intense. Looks + sounds like Godzilla, though...

Whaddaya think???

SynthethicalY 07.05.2007 12:46 AM

Yeah that is what I was thinking, when I saw it.

k-krack 07.05.2007 01:00 AM

It had better not be Godzilla, because as much as Godzilla is rad, it's tired now. Let it sleep for a few more years before rehasing that shit.
I sincerly hope it's something compeltely new and insane. It looks incredible.
Not much interest here???

SynthethicalY 07.05.2007 01:04 AM

It looked interesting, since it did not show what it was all about, it looked good. So we will see in time, what it is.

LifeDistortion 07.05.2007 01:34 AM

This is the first time I'm seeing this. That's a really great trailer. I'd hate to think its something as silly as a re-hash of a "Godzilla/Monster Destroys City" film.

k-krack 07.05.2007 01:40 AM

Well, a good monster movie is what we need. Who the hell isn't tired of all the doubl-ejointed dead-kids bullshit and fog and slippery floors crap?!
I want a damn monster movie, and this one is looking pretty promising!

vulva 07.05.2007 03:11 AM

I saw big robots fuck shit up, now I want big lizards fucking shit up. Is that too much to ask?

ALIEN ANAL 07.05.2007 04:05 AM

it is known what this movie is, but i cant remember..sorry haha
ok i was jsut referring to the j j abrams thing, ignore me :P

mangajunky 07.05.2007 09:03 AM

That just made me giggle with joy. This could be good. I wonder if the whole movie will be in the perspective of people running for their lives.

mangajunky 07.05.2007 12:36 PM

better version (cept for someone standing up at the beginning)

It also stirs my angsty 9/11 feelings - I like movies that make me feel uncomfortable.

MOVIE INFO:
- The running title is "Cloverfield", but this is not the real title. It is meant to be deceptive. It'll be changed before the final version.
- It is not about Godzilla, Gamera, Voltron, Astroboy, or whatever else you guys have come up with. It's about a monster called "The Parasite". That's all that's known.
- The whole movie is filmed on handheld cameras. Think Blair Witch, but cooler.
- It's by J.J. Abrams, creator of LOST. No wonder we don't know what's going on!

RAD!

al the hype that was built before that movie came out made it seem awesome. all that hype happened to be better than the movie itself.

No way! Blair Witch was a sweet movie, dude. Such an incredible concept, especially the ending (I mean the credits ending... so haunting)

k-krack 07.05.2007 01:54 PM

Floatingslowly, where'd you get that info? I knew about the Cloverfield stuff and all the hype about what it is... but nothing was official...

under the "more" link from the youtube trailer that mangajunkie posted.

who knows how credible it is, but yeah...sounds good.

if that movie is half as good as Lost, it's going to be really fucking awesome.

floatingslowly 07.05.2007 02:03 PM

let's just hope he survives Dave the Destroyer.

Video isn't available to view anymore, I'm starting to hate sites like YouTube, all the stuff worth seeing gets taken down, and all that's left is people recording themselves doing stupid asinine shit nobody cares about. Actually is there a site more official we can go? There are a lot of movie trailer sites and since they are showing this in theatres maybe its posted on a movie trailer site?

mangajunky 07.05.2007 05:31 PM

odd - isn't it just an advertisement for their movie?
I guess they would rather piss off the fans.

The Gaming Life » Blog Archive » JJ Abrams Clover Field Teaser Trailer

Didn't take long to find another site that posted it.

LifeDistortion 07.05.2007 06:18 PM

Also a lot of publications intially thought "Cloverfield" was the alias title for "The Dark Tower" but I find it hard to believe that anything more then a still being written first draft is completed when it comes to that, project.

Danny Himself 07.05.2007 06:41 PM

Coooool, trailer looks killer.
