Stoner Rock Sounds Crap When Stoned.

Yep, Stoner Rock, and most other 'psychedelic' related music sounds bloody horrible when 'under the influence'. Like a weird grinding mush. '80s era Fleetwood Mac? Now you're talkin'.

That's the best thing that you can come up with for your 3000th post? You should be ashamed of yourself.

I remember the days when x000th posts were something to be marked with a post of great importance.

sarramkrop 02.07.2008 01:08 PM

Enough of nostalgia. Try whizz instead.

A Thousand Threads 02.07.2008 01:15 PM

Well, Cock Rock also doesn't sound very good just because you're hung.

Think about it!

demonrail666 02.07.2008 01:18 PM

Had I realised it was my 3000th post I might've been a little more profound. As it stands, I'll now have to wait until my 4000th post before I unveil my formula for world peace. Oh well.

Either way, well done the Giants.

Fuck that for a game of soldiers!

The new Paramore album sounds OK after two cups of coffee. Three cups though, and you start to see right through it. A small window of OKness, but bigger than most could boast I suppose.

Solid!

Really though, there's this clubber in college who only speaks to advertise the fact he is a clubber- and by this I mean; "You think thats bad? I was in [trendy gay bar] the other day and [trendy club track] came on, and I was on [trendy drug] and I just went mental". I never want to hear or read of Ketamine EVER AGAIN.

Nothing personal, it's just that if you're sad enough to talk about your drug abuse you've got some problems. (Duh).

why do you equate usage with abuse? Unless there's more to the story you didn't relate?

The words are interchangable and I wasn't really thinking about it. :/

uhler 02.07.2008 04:25 PM

yeah even black sabbath sounds like shit when high. i don't like to listen to music when i'm stoned (which is almost never). i like to watch hour long commercials.

Everyneurotic 02.07.2008 04:53 PM

stoner rock pretty much sounds the same always.

stoner rock is for potheads who think pink floyd is gay.

You make a good point - there is little duller than someone talking about the drugs they've taken. 'Twas a pithy aside, if you will.

Ketamine is amazing mind you.

I don't care, I have Jam Wagon Wheels and they are brilliant.

All music sounds better under the influence of weed. And I HATE weed.

Codeine + Doom drone = now you're talking.

Acid + Stars of the Lid = NOW YOU'RE TALKING.

is it really that much of a surprise that feeling good as a result of being high would make listening to music better? drugs and music have gone hand in hand since the mayans held tribal drum dancing ceremonies fueled by booze and whatever the fuck else psychoactives the could find.

batreleaser 02.07.2008 08:28 PM

then again, coke and booze requires more specific type music. when youre home from the bar/club/show with some friends and your all doing lines and talking shit and coking out to records, in these situations i generally find myself listening to older more classic rock n roll, the stones, ledzep, black sabbath, van morrison, jimi, and then funk like sly stone, al green, curtis mayfield, pfunk, and then more basic punk ramones/damned/the weirdos, and then classic hip hop nwa/public enemy/wu tang/biggie/nas/rakim/boogie down productions etc... Just stuff thats easily recognized and easily enjoyed by most everyone in the room. But when youre alone and getting high, or with a band buddy or something getting high, thats when its more fun to experiment with different bands you really love more 'avant garde' than say the coking out at 5 am records.

fluxequalsrad 02.07.2008 10:08 PM

when I'm baked I find myself straying away from the more expirimental stuff and listening to like Wilco-A.M. stuff. .. or Tom Petty...or just some stompin' simple country tinged rock. I dunno...
